I placed my 92 year old father at Maefair for Rehab following a hip fracture. He was there for approximately one month. At the time, my mom was dying in a hospital nearby with COVID. The bedside phone would not allow him to call out due to "long distance rates" so he was stranded without the ability to call me, my sibling or the hospital where my mother was a patient. This was very distressing. The rec staff would bring an ipad by a few times a week for him to use but he needed to be able to call out when he needed to. Judy Hyland, a company administrator was very unresponsive regarding getting this policy changed. My mother passed away while my father was still in rehab. While I called him a couple of times a day, often the phone was placed outside his reach and he remarked that he felt "powerless" and "alone" since he couldn't reach out to us when he wanted to . This is an archaic policy that needs changing.
The social workers, especially Clara were excellent. The therapists were also excellent. The nursing staff was mediocre at best with my dad waiting two hours sometimes to use the bathroom especially at night.

This place is an example of insurance fraud at its best. If you can remember Park City Hospital in the 70's, this place is identical to it in 2014. First off, they offer short term rehab services. They put my husband on a third floor. Second, they had no ice to provide him as he needed. I have pictures of the tiny dry ice packets they offered to him-what a joke. No recliner for him to get out of bed at all-except these 1970 hard chairs. They found a recliner but it was soiled in blood and chemicals! The television was a computer monitor screen set atop of a handmade wood box to bring it up to bed level. The bed is made for those 5'9 and under. my husband was 6'3 and they had no bed to fit him. His meds did not arrive there until the next day. We rung the buzzer-by the way, they have NO INTERCOM SERVICE, God forbid someone falls. We waited 20 minutes, then I proceeded to get the nurse and I double checked the light was working on his room -which it was and when the nurse saw me, they said-oh may I help you? I said " my husabnd rang the buzzer 20 minutes ago, why did it take so long especially that the light was in working condition. I actually ended up tending to my husbands every need. I walked the floor at night as I could not sleep because I was upset that they were not tending to him. The CNA'a did n't know anythign about ice or ice packs. They were sleeping in chairs outside of certain patients room. After dinner time, they would line up all the seniors in wheelchairs for 3 hours minimum, and claimed they were putting them to bed. A few of them asked me to stroll them down to their room because they were tired. One lady was in her chair all day at the nurses station! I found out many people who work there are contract employees who move around from place to place. They should close this place because ti is a discrace to treat people in this manner after all their contribution to society. The staff was unknowledgable and they should never send any short term rehab patients there. You get no choice of foods to eat from. They have three meals a day and it is what they want to serve you-if you dont like it or eat it, too bad. The only thiing that was a good was the parking.

They hire people to perform for them and then don't pay. The performance was done by a world renowned artist, they said they would pay within 30 days, now it's been almost 2 months. The artist lives in the same town! They make thousands of $$ on families who pay them to take care of their parents and they can't even pay $250.00 on time? I wonder how they treat the people they are supposed to take care of???

Not trustworthy is just that, not trustworthy.
