I was a resident there for over a year. The nurses did not follow Doctor's orders and the lady who passed out the medicines to the residents always made mistakes. The woman in the business office opens resident's mail.
This is the worst nursing home in Dallas County!!! Don't even think about putting someone in this horrible place,

Mesquite Nursing Tree has been my first experience with nursing homes. It was a nightmare! My grandmother was neglected to the point, she ended up very ill and unresponsive, due to lack of medication given to her at this nursing facility. I went to check on her the night prior to her being rushed to the hospital by paramedics. I asked the nurse on duty, if he thought she was trying to slip in a coma, because she didn't seem to be responding properly. He assured me, "she is just tired and very sleepy." The next morning, I called to check on her and the nurse to me she was not verbally responsive and they where waiting to receive a phone call to see what they needed to do.... At that point, I had a family member to go to the facility to check on her since she was 5 minutes away. When she got there, she called me and said, she needs to go to the hospital right away. SHE IS NOT RESPONSIVE and will not WAKE UP! Long story short, she is at Baylor Hospital in a worsen condition, all because she was neglected at this care facility. My heart goes out to all residents at this care facility. Who will be the voice when their not getting the best treatment according to their care plan. As Americans we owe it to our elders, respect, support and love.

Mesquite Tree only has one Doctor that only visit's once a week...the Doctor is very hard to get ahold of and has yet to return one of my many, many calls. The residents rooms are always dirty and the laundry is always misplaced. The meals are not regulated depending on the residents diet and are allowed to eat whatever is served regardless of any illnesses. The staff is always eager to assist when the issues are brought to their attention but a solution is never followed through. Mesquite Nursing Tree has been my very first experience with Nursing Homes and I cant imagine how or why the facility is still in business. My loved one has been neglected on so many levels and abused by other residents I cant imagine why I ever thought this would be a good place for her.

I always have the best experience here. Although I have nothing to complain about, I have noticed that they strongly adhere to the customer is always right policy and if anything goes wrong make every effort to correct the situation. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. The facility was easy enough to find. The Administrator was very active on the floor, assisting where he could.
