My 87 year old mother has been at Pekin Manor (Garden Center) on the Alzheimer wing and she loves it.She moved to the wing from a assisted living facility .
I was apprehensive about moving her but it has turned out to be a God send for all concerned.
She has received fantastic care from the staff and they are great about keeping me informed on anything I need to be aware of.
I have never had a issue with the nurses or aids
They are ALL great caregivers

My mother has lived in Pekin Estates for several years now. We have always received the best care and attention. They make her feel like she is the only one who matters. Even when we are asking a lot, they never make us feel like we are a bother.
It was very difficult for all of us when Mom had to give up her home. We were worried about having a home for the grandchildren to visit. but Pekin Estates has provided that welcoming, clean, warm atmosphere we feared we were losing. A recent fall has brought her over to Pekin Manor Rehabilitation. Once again we see the high level of care and consideration being given to her. The past several years have been very difficult for our family. Pekin Estates/ Pekin Manor has taken some of the sting out of the situation. We feel like family when we walk in the front door. Thank you to all who work there.

The staff didn't seem to know a whole lot about the company they worked for. Every single time I'd ask them a question, they'd refer me to someone else. It was very frustrating. Every time they left the room, the staff would immediately begin complaining about how much they disliked working there. It made me nervous, and I didn't go back. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. This is not a place to work at if you are a student and trying to work all at the same time...They could care less if you are trying to better yourself by going to school,they over look the fact that you need certain days off ,they just don't care about the people who work there,the CNA's they treat them like shit when they are the back bone of the nursing home..Come on have a heart for those who want a better education..They never have enough care for the old people,and it is sad when you walk threw the place and old people are crying to go to the bathroom and you watch staff members walk by like they do not even see them or hear their crys for help.What is wrong with this picture????????????
