I eventually found a spot after cruising around a little bit. I wish they had more convenient parking available. The place is filthy and smells like a bedpan. They weren't horribly inexperienced, but I was hoping for someone with more experience. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. . Every time I would start talking about my circumstances, they would argue with me or get mad. I was scared to say anything because I didn't want to make them upset.

Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. The administrator helped answer questions about Medicaid and never made me feel rushed.

My father came from another nursing home and they did not take tome to talk to him or just listen to him. Shabbona staff can tell me more about my father in a few months then the other home ever knew.

The other writer were totally lying about the facility when they said it should be shut down. It is an older building but it looks nice and very clean with a beautiful courtyard.
During the hot weather they gave anyone who wanted a fan one and there were fans in the hallways so I don't know what nursing home this family is talking about

I think some families must never be happy. I tell everyone to come talk to Shabbona.

Shabbona Health Care Center is a very poor facility. Care is very inconsistent, and the director is very rude. The physical condition of the building is also poor. No air conditioning in the rooms, and no fans provided. Physical therapy services seem inadequate, and very little communication with family members.

Very poor facility that needs to be shut down. Level of care is poor; many of the workers there do not care about the elderly. Some nurses and cna's are good, but not too many. Management is very poor and irresponsible. When problems are brought up with management, they don't do anything to resolve the situation. The director of the facility is very rude.

I feel the changes at 'Shabbona are wonderful and my family member has been treated great. Staff is always helpful and there for anything we need also. We brought our family member from another facility and know the difference from a good home and a bad home and Shabbona is a great home.
