Vista del Sol was just right for my parents. Value and quality for the cost was excellent. The staff (especially head nurses and administration) communicate well with each other and Rosa, the head administrator, and the head nurses care very much for the welfare of each patient. They laughed and joked with my dad and helped my dad deal with my mother who suffers from Parkinson's disease. Vista del Sol is unusual for an Assisted Living location because they have nurses in the facility 24 hours due to an adjoining nursing home. The Assisted Living facility is a collection of cottages, has a nice layout and was always clean at anytime I was there. This is NOT a 'fancy' pricey Assisted Living place with lots of entertainment and designer decor, but it provides a safe, supportive & community environment for elderly people. Again, it is just right for my parents and the staff really worked with me to help take care of my parents.

One thing I love about them, is that they're always willing to ask for other qualified professionals' advice when they don't have an answer for my question. I never have to worry about them giving me a wrong answer just because they weren't willing to ask for help. The waiting area here is extremely spacious. There is never overcrowding and everything is spaced appropriately. One of the first things I noticed about this business was how many different areas of the building were handicap-accessible. I have been to other places where I couldn't tell how someone in a wheelchair could even enter, but they really spent a lot of time to accommodate people with all different needs.

When comparing them to others in their field, I would say they are by far the worst I have ever seen. I will never return. The restrooms here are not well-stocked. My stall had no toilet paper so I had to use a toilet seat cover. They were far to arrogant to get any sort of outside advice, even though they knew they should. I was hoping to see someone that considered my safety more important than always having an answer.

Someone recommended this place to me since I needed to place my mother right away from rehab. The person who recommended Vista used to know it from when the Henry Family ran the facility so it was highly recommended. What a disappointment! I got a tour of the facility from Rosa, the administrator. Then I had the rehab facility faxed over my mother's paperwork to see if she was a candidate for Vista. When I went back to see if Rosa had received the paperwork, she turned me away. She practically pushed me out of her office and shut the door behind saying she was too busy to help me. Needless to say, I did not place my mother at Vista. If the administration is not willing to help, how can you expect the rest to care for your loved one?

Vista Del Sol use to be a very nice place, my father was a patient here a few years ago and it was so nice, the people who use to run the place Stella Henry and her husband where so nice and knew all are family by first name. My father spent almost 2 years at Vista Del Sol and he really seems to like the place.
My mother ended up staying at Vista Del Sol and New management has took over the place, the place now is run by this administrator woman who never says hi or even looks at me or any of my family, I have talked to other families who have their loved ones there and it has been the same for them.
I already took my mother out of this place and she is doing much better. The staff and nurses at Vista Del Sol have always been nice to us and are family, but this new administrator needs to find work elsewhere, she is not a people person and seems very cold, it seems to me they are more worried about making money then helping the patients.
I would look elsewhere in placing any one you love into this place, or at least have a sit down meeting with this new administrator so you can see what I’m talking about.
