My husband and I went to visit his father and when we got there the room smelled like feces. I asked the nurse if she could check him and she replied I am getting to him .. his turn will come,. My husband then went to the nurses desk and let them know he would change him if they just gave him everything, a nursing assistant came in and was showing him where everything was when another NA came in with a sassy attitude and said I told you I would get now get out so that I can change him, my husband then said I am going to close the door and she stated unless you want to look at him. When all said and done my husband went to call the nurse so that he can ask her questions. When she came in she stated she could not answer any questions and he needed to ask his mom (now the ex-wife..) He then told her that he was listed on there and that there are some family dynamics and that there is no communication there. The nurse then stated she had to go look at the paperwork to see if he was on there.. took her around 15 minutes, she then came back in holding his mothers, brought her in the room hand and did not say a word. When my husband asked her politely to his mother stand outside so that we can finish asking the questions she then stated she could no longer answer any questions told us to leave. Before we left we asked if my husband was listed on there and he was told he was and that he was. I believe in instances like the one we were put in after being told there was family dynamics, the nurse should of remained neutral and not create a bad situation.

When asking staff for assistance they seem bothered. Asking for assistance in changing a patient or helping them to bed is what they are getting paid for yet it is very evident they are annoyed when asked to do so.

Absolutely not! I constantly have to repeat and re-explain my situation!
