My father was in this facility and contacted the Mercer Virus. His health was good before but due to a stroke he could not walk. His health declined immediate after contacting the Virus and died several months later. My understanding the Virus is due to the facility not being clean and someone not washing their hands and following proper procedures. When he first went in the nursing home it was very nice but it went down hill over time. He complained that staff members hurt him, had several items stolen, I had to buy 3 remote controls for his TV where they would get washed with his bed sheets, clothes would go missing, a staff member broke his hearing aid, then a new hearing aid obtained thru medicare that the staff was responsible for putting in his ear in the morning when giving him medication and removing at bed time when he received medication went missing after 45 days, I wish I would have moved him to another home but this facility was close to his family and was easy for his elderly sisters and brother to visit him. When he died on 5/15/2015 I had prepaid for the whole month which is required buy the home. I have been trying ever since to get a refund for the unused time I prepaid for him, about one half a month or around 1,500 dollars. It has been a year now and all I get is promises. I really don't think the current owner cares about anything but getting paid and don't seem very honest. The home is owned by Consulate Health Care. Raleigh Hartman
NEEDS work!! Flies, Short staffed, staff out of uniform, not professional. I visited my father today and he was very much in need of a bath and a shave. No one should ever have to see their family member or loved one in that condition. it would be understandable if he resided in his own home, but unfortunately, this is not the case. I will be dropping in more in the future.
