I am concerned about the care patients receive. I have been there several times and my relative hadn't had a bath, she smelled awful. I was informed she had a right to refuse a bath. Another time the odor from the room hit you as soon as you entered the door, again my relative hadn't had a bath. I called after a friend visited her and was informed she had the same clothes on that I put on her on her the previous Tuesday and that day was Thursday. I called the DON and she was given a bath I was informed with much resistance. I asked is staff not trained to deal with difficult confused patients and I was informed yes. How can a confused forgetful patient refuse a bath. Is it not abuse neglect to leave them soiled and with an odor ?
