I have no complaint about the service I receive every time at Aje's African hair Braiding. Lots of compliments about my hair do. Definitely love this place. I come back every two months and every time I am satisfied even though some other hair places find me too picky. Love it there!

I was amazed at how wonderfully they treated each of their staff members. They were so appreciative and thankful. I've never seen any employer treat their staff better, and it made me want to come back that much more. I’d choose them over any other salon anywhere. They have the best service I’ve ever seen. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. They were by far one of the best I've ever seen in their field. It was obvious that they've been exceeding their clients' expectations for many years. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time.

They went up on the price by $20 after I got there, they didn't do the size braids I asked for, they had inappropriate movies on the tv, were loud the girl braiding my hair had loud music in her earphone while doing my hair. I'm 9 months pregnant and requested to split sessions in 2 days if it would take a long time the owner said it would only be 5 hours which turned into 9 hours. They didn't braid my hair so that I could leave and return. I left swollen And sore. The owner had the nerve to go back and forth with me about the time. Oh and you pay before your hair is done. Totally unprofessional and I will never return!

Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. I feel like my appointment was pointless. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. The office was easy enough to find. They did not do what i asked them to the girl kept saying she was sleepy and walking off they stole my hair that i paid $85 for and switched it with some cheap hair that they had in the shop. when i went to get it fixed they called me a liar!! they charged me $20 extra dollars to fix it and the lady who used to own the shop (Aje) doesn't even work there anymore, but the lady who owns it (Ama) pretends to be Aje so that she can trick her customers to getting their hair done their. they are rude and disrespectful and they are thieves, hold your hair in your hand at all times or they will steal it!!!! i got my hair done there two days ago, and paid $180!!! if you want to see the mess that they put in my hair email me at princessyoung2004@yahoo.com and i will show you pictures!!!

Very good services.
Aje s African hair braiding is number one in Jacksonville Fl.
no doubt.i been there to get micro braids u cnt imagine how good they look...and the service was wonderful, they are real nice, friendly,the shop is clean and nice....dnt forget to ask about the gooooood african movies.

My first experience was a good one but I now think its because Aje was not the one who provided the service. After my second visit I was left with head lice and a scaling scalp after Aje did my hair. On my third and last visit, I did not see the girl who did my hair the first time so I waited for a while to see if she would show up.

What I noticed while waiting made me sick and I think the Health Department needs to visit this salon. The ENTIRE staff especially Aje move from one hair to the next (clean or dirty) without washing or sanitizing their hands. They use hot water on some styles and the pot in which the water is heated seems like it has never been washed. Alot of people may not have noticed but the water in the pot is always literally BLACK because it has been used and reused on different hair time after time.

I understand its a dogy dog world out there but Aje is so money hungry that she needs to understand that its ok to buy a few bottle of hand sanitizers for the shop to protect people's health.
