I am Robyn and I have owned Alley Door Hair Studio for 19 years. I strive to have a salon that is well run and friendly. I have worked very hard on my carreer for 36 years. The person who used words like tyrant and loud have not the courage to use thier name. If the review were true I would have thought the business would have been closed after a year instead of thriving for 19 years ! We look forward to celebrating our 20th on May 2nd 2011 We invite the troubled reviewer and thier stylist( who dosen't own thier own salon )to by all means attend !We do however thank all the wonderful stylists and nail techs that do work at Alley Door Hair Studio, and we appreciate the wonderful clients .

As a long-time customer of Robyn's, I can say with great authority that her knowledge and skills for her craft are unmatched in the F'burg area. Don't go in expecting to give orders - she is an image consultant and will give you her professional opinion and she will only do your hair in such a way that it flatters your face/build - and that is why I go there.
The salon is very clean and the atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming. I also like that the salon is open really early (I think even at 4:00am some days.)

My Stylist left there some time ago and I follow her every where.
I was VERY glad when she left there. The salon is clean, there is always coffee, water and donuts available on Saturdays.
However, The person who holds the lease on the salon is a tyrant. She is LOUD, as are two of the other subcontractors. I could not have a conversation with my stylist without someone butting in, and we couldn't concentrate on our conversations because the decible level was so high.
Also,the 'Holder of the Lease' Talks CONSTANTLY to anyone who will listen and everyone who doesn't want to, at an ungoldly high pitch about her personal views on politics and religion, two things that are best left out of a salon conversation. She will shout down anyone with opposing views, she knows EVERYTHING, and she is downright obnoxious. I love my stylist and I stuck with her, but I am so glad she has moved on.
