I was a member of this gym for about 3 years, as it was able to meet my needs for quite some time. However, I eventually outgrew it and moved on to a more credible establishment, with better equipment, and where the owners/management are more professional. For those who know what I'm talking about, Basic Training has changed hands several times throughout the years. It started out as a "boxing dungeon" way back in the day, and evolved into a place for serious lifters. I'm not and never will take anything away from some of the guys who have trained, and still train there. Actually, the reason I left is more about the management. I never had any strong disagreement with anyone, but, after seeing some of the inner workings and how the place was ran, I decided it was time to move on. I won't go into details or slander anyone, but, I'd suggest looking for a different club. Why? Because this gym is comprised of a small core group of members, who treat it as their private club, and only allow 'outsiders' to come in just for the sake of getting dues/paying the bills, so THEY can maintain a place for themselves. No disrespect to anyone there, just saying that anyone who is thinking of joining should be aware of the culture there. So take that into consideration before joining.
