Do not take your animals to this vet unless you have endless money to spend on ridiculous priced meds and don't mind paying extremely high prices for a 45 second visit by a doctor. This place is a total rip off! They only care about up selling...that is the main goal at this clinic, not your pet's well being.

We have taken all three of our dogs to the Animal Hospital of Ovilla for over a year. We started going there because of good reviews, but after a handful of trips to this Vet, I am a true believer that whoever is in charge of this operation really does not care about the animals, only about the money. We have brought our dogs in for various reasons, but at no time did they ever diagnosis our dogs with any specific illness or issue. They always "Recommended" more tests or treatments and once those are done, they recommend more tests and treats and on and on. We have had Vets, for a lot less money, diagnosis and cure various issues with our pets, but this Vet wants hundreds of dollars for tests that may or may not tell us anything. Then they want hundreds of dollars for meds that most of the time has not worked to cure any issues. Don't get me wrong, I understand it is difficult to diagnosis an animal, but when being a Vet is your profession and people look to you as a Vet to be an expert in this field, then you need to live up to the standards. I wouldn't expect a firefighter to know how to treat a sick animal, but I would expect a firefighter to know how to put a house fire out. These "Veterinarians" have no idea how to look a an animal, look at the symptoms and use training and experience to diagnosis your pet. Don't waste your time and hard earned money at this place, you would be better off buying a veterinarian book and diagnosing your pet yourself. Steer clear of the Animal Hospital of Ovilla.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend them to my friends or family. The chairs in their waiting room weren't the best but they served their purpose and I couldn't complain. My overall experience with this provider was terrible. I was so disappointed! I've heard some negative stories and some decent ones. I don't think this is the right provider for me. It was so nice to arrive and see that there were several staff members available to help me. I've gone to some places that were understaffed and that's always difficult. This place was great, and I'll definitely be going back.

I would not recommend this office at all. Sure they are nice and are good with examinations, but never take your pet there for surgery. When I wanted to get my cat declawed they did not tell me what it involved, no education about it whatsoever. So he got declawed and they did a CRAPPY job. My other cat was declawed years before and we have never had problems, but my cat I got declawed there now has deformed feet, most likely nerve damage, and is in constant pain. After learning about his complications and what is involved in declawing I am now against it, and wish I could sue this hospital for the crappy declaw they did and that they did not tell me what was involved in the surgery. If I could I would sue them for all the damages they did to my poor kitty - he now has to be on pain meds, joint supplements, and acupuncture because 1) they did not educate me and 2) they ultimately did a very VERY bad job causing my baby chronic pain and disfigurement.
