I called my CVS pharmacy and the pharmacist at first was very rude and kept interrupting me, so I had difficulty right from the start with this pharmacist. I called to find out why 2 out of 4 non-ontrolled meds were being filled, while the other 2 were not. I always pick them up all together and never had a problem. The answer I received from the pharmacist was that they never received the prescription order which was sent by my Dr a week earlier. I then saw on the cvs website that the medication was in fact sent in a week earlier with the other 2 prescriptions. So I called back and told the same pharmacist that I could see the medication and then she said (lied again) that my insurance wasn’t going to pay for it, it was too early. She asked if I wanted to pay for it myself and I said no. So I called my insurance company and they said it could be filled. So I called again and at this point, the pharmacist was very angry and yelling at me that I should have some left, which I did have a couple days left but I didn’t want to make an extra trip due to health issues. That’s why I have them filled on the same day. Then she asked me was I abusing the medication and that’s why I wanted it filled This was totally unprofessional and just idiotic to even ask me that. They were for a blood pressure medication. Then I said hasn't everyone taken at least one extra pill at one point in their lives. Then she said oh, so you aren’t taking it as prescribed and said she would have to call my Dr the next day-bc it was a Sunday. So I waited until Monday and called my Dr and he said he had not spoken to a pharmacist and said I should switch pharmacies (not very helpful). When I looked online at my prescriptions again, I saw that the entire prescription order was now completely different. she had put a note saying not to fill these 2 meds until a certain date, which was 3 days past the date it was allowed to be refilled. Then I noticed that she had written a certain date on a couple more prescriptions, saying that they could not be filled until this date, not when they were originally supposed to be filled, but had put in a note that these meds couldn’t be filled until a date 3 days later than what had been the original date they were supposed to be filled. So now, instead of being able to pick up al my prescriptions in the next 2 days, I had to pick up 3 on the first day, 2 on the second day, 3 on the third day and 1 she scheduled for 5 days past the original date that the insurance company allowed. She decided when the prescriptions could be filled even though they could of been filled within the 2 days originally. She made a comment to me that was apparent that she was judging me as a drug addict bc I wanted my prescriptions filled on the dates they were approved to be filled. Are pharmacists allowed to override the date when the prescriptions were able to be filled according to the insurance company and state guidelines?
