I went into Smith County Drugs to have my prescriptions Filled , as I'd just left my pain clinic . The pharmacist on duty(Patty) , Started discussing openly my controlled substances, In the presence of everybody who was in line, OR standing around the counter. As you might think this was A most embarrassing situation, as well as the information being Shared was confidential and should not be discussed where anyone Happening through the door or standing in line , Could potentially acquire Enough information For the purpose of conversion or whatever could be ascertained for criminal purposes. It was my knowledge that HIPPA rights were developed for such reasons as this. I did attempt to lead her to the Room marked patient counseling however, she just stood there and continued discussion of this confidential information as if the content of medication or medical conditions had no significance whatsoever.

I feel that it is dangerous enough to possess these medications in the first place , Without the pharmacist disclosing, This information to the public , as well as breaking Federal law , By violating My HIPPA Rights . She told me that they did not have adequate supplies of my medication today or in the distant future, calling the medication by it's name ,and could not fill my prescriptions ,nor would they have any of this medication on hand, due to the changing of their vendors , And she could not tell me when she would be receiving any additional medications . SHE was very quick to tell me that she was a part owner ,however she could not help me find a pharmacy in close proximity, that would be able to assist me in obtaining my medications, it simply was not her job to do that.

My wife and I have been using a different pharmacy and have been slowly moving all of our prescriptions to Smith County Drug. We are both extremely happy with the service and professionalism of the staff. The other pharmacy we were using would take an hour or more to fill our prescriptions and with Smith County Drug they are filled usually within 10 minutes or so. I would recommend this pharmacy to anyone.
