I last visited Johnston's in 1996. At that time they made sure every single question I had was answered, and were available by phone for more questions. Their staff was very friendly and professional. They accommodated my needs in the store, although it was crowded in places at the time. Some items were more expensive than I'd paid on the internet or by catalog. But I didn't mind because they delivered my purchase for free. At the time.I also got a great discount on a top of the line exercise bicycle which they also delivered for free. On another visit they fit me for a new neck brace and were very gracious about the fact I have hardly any neck and was hard to fit. The staff remained pleasant despite what most store workers would find an extremely frustrating experience. Moreover they special ordered items they did not carry, and showed me pictures of the items in catalogs and measured to be sure they were right before ordering. I was very satisfied with my visit. They were very helpful. I do not know how the chain stores and the internet have affected them over the years (it is now Sept 12, 2012). I hope they have made their store more wheelchair friendly. If my opinion changes on my next visit, I shall update or write a follow up comment.
