I scheduled something of an urgent surgery at the Surgery Center. Afterward, I read some of the negative reviews, which made me very nervous, but I did not feel I could cancel my surgery due to its urgent nature. However, while I feel sorry for the people who had a bad experience, my experience was very good. The staff and nurses were friendly, sympathetic, and treated me with dignity. They answered all of my questions and responded promptly to my every request, from fixing a pinching IV to getting extra blankets to getting me a small snack when the surgery was over. Coming out of the anesthesia, I was emotional and teary. The nurses were patient and kind, and stayed with me until I was feeling better. I would have no problem scheduling another surgery at the Surgery Center or recommending it to a friend.

Went for a spinal injection. The anesthesiologist checked on me after the injection and then proceeded to show me an exercise (on the recovery room floor) that he thought I should attempt. He also, without being asked or encouraged in any way, wrote a prescription for physical therapy with a therapist that he" highly recommended" . I felt it was all very unprofessional and inappropriate for a doctor I'd never met before, who's specialty was NOT spines, to tell me what I should do, uninvited. I felt very uncomfortable with his actions and words. My problem was NOT remedied by injections or pt....it required extensive surgery.

Did not like the receptionist's "sign this and we'll call you later" attitude. I had some serious questions about my planned surgery and they blew me off. Told me someone would call me the night before surgery but, this has happened before and this call always turns out to be "dont' drink/eat the night before and hold your questions till in da morning!" I knew that the morning of surgery I would be ignored and treated like a number so, after readying some other poor reviews about this place, I cancelled my surgery. Glad I did. These people dont' seem to realize that when getting surgery you're unconscious, naked, in a room full of strangers and they have knives AND that I'm the one paying their salary. They could definately use a course in how to treat a patient like a human being and not another pay check. They need to learn to answer questions...not push them off on some other nurse.

Their staff was not friendly at all, and didn't answer my questions. They were, in fact, smugly and agressively unhelpful. I believe the nursing care here may vary, however, my experience was very poor. My health and comfort were clearly not important to any of the many nurses present on the day of my procedure. I would not subject myself to this level of demeaning humiliation at the hands of the uncaring staff again. Worse than the rudeness and neglect, however, was the absolute lack of attention to my actual health. It is unlikely that I would have been discharged from any other surgical facility while bleeding at the rate I was bleeding, vomiting blood, and unable to speak coherently. However, it was after 5 pm on a Friday, and I believe that was the deciding factor. Don't go here. I feel lucky to have survived.
