I started seeing John Smothers because of an acid reflux problem which the medical community actually made worse using pharmaceutical drugs. John explained to me that my problem was actually too little stomach acid that was causing the reflux. Within 3 months that problem was resolved, but I do have to take supplements to keep the problem at bay. As I have aged other digestive issues have developed which he has been able to resolve. After working with John I became a believer in a good clean diet free of dairy and wheat, and in natural therapies and replacing what an older body is no longer making. He has also taught me that most everyone has leaky gut which leads to autoimmune disease. I am lucky that I did not have an autoimmune disease, but he fixed my leaky gut before it led to bigger problems and changed my diet. People complain about taking all the supplements, but after studying each supplement I take, I know that they are not wasted, that my body needs them to work properly. Now he takes insurance, which helps pay for the tests he needs one to take. I recommend seeing John for any digestive problems and autoimmune diseases because he will add diet to the natural supplents that your body will need to function properly.

My wife and daughter have been seeing him for 4 months. We've turned to Dr. Smothers because he had a good reputation because modern medicine has been unable to cure my wife and now my daughter of the severe adrenal fatigue.

First, if you are looking for someone to solve your problem, I believe this man will stand a far better chance than most. Not all problems are curable. If you're looking for a compassionate shoulder to hear your problems, you will be disappointed. Not that I believe him to be cold and unfeeling. He is an INTJ personality type (Google it), if I ever saw one (think Sherlock Holmes). These personality types are extremely driven at their job and solving problems. They are, however, detached. Again, this is not being critical. Our society unfortunately doesn't value this type of personality and they are misunderstood. Communication will come with your questions. Ask many of them.

The only problem I've seen so far is that the treatments take time and money. They take time, because the human body is not simple and most of the problems being seen now come from years of cumulative exposure to unhealthy conditions that throw the body out of whack. Unfortunately, unless you are Fred Smith you may run out of money before full health is restored. Pharmaceutical grade supplements aren't cheap and unless another physician can work with you and Dr. Smothers to get them accepted, insurance will not pay for it. Non-pharmaceutical grade supplements are also not cheap, though not as expensive. There are a shot in the dark on quality.

I believe Dr. Smothers to be an honest and dedicated man. If anyone can heal chronic, immune deficiency diseases, chronic fatigue and the like, it is him. But you must be willing to change the lifestyle you have that got you into this mess you're in. That may involve living on no savings for a time.

After seeing western doctors for 11 years with minimal improvement and maximum costs, Dr. Smothers helped me to regain my health in just two months! As a result of seeing him, I went from a gaunt 130 pounds for my 6'1" frame to over 140, no longer needed my daily coffee for narcolepsy, experienced alleviation of my GI symptoms, and this is only the beginning. Smothers is a miracle worker!

The front desk tried to give a good impression and were very pleasant. However, the doctor was busy and not interested in my situation. I had to wait forever after I arrived for my appointment. They were running behind and he took calls and talked with people while in my appointment. I was disappointed - a big waste of money. Don't go there.

I have been under John Smother's care for four years. I came to him feeling very bad: no energy, depression, poor adrenal function, a ramped up nervous system, etc. The supplements he put me on began to make me feel better right away. My adrenal function is now completely normal, my energy and mood are good and my nervous system has calmed down and is normal. I know that no MD would've been able to help me heal like this. In addition, he has always taken his time with me and answered my questions. He is very available to talk with on the phone while most MD's are impossible to reach! I have learned a lot about good nutrition and diet from Dr. John and would highly recommend him.

I did not have a good experience with this "doctor". I came seeking nutritional advice for a thyroid problem and left with a whole host of unnecessary supplements. At the time I just wanted to feel better and was willing to believe anyone. I found this doctor unfriendly, difficult to communicate with, and more interested in making money than natural healing. I could seriously go on about how poorly I feel about this doctor, but I will just say judge for yourself. I am sure he has helped some people but I wish I would have listened to my gut instinct and stayed away from his office.
