I attended a 2 week course with Dr McGarey entitled Temple Beautiful in 1986....while I was being treated with chemo and radiation at UCSF/Stanford for Hodgkin's Lymphoma: to this day, 24 years later, I believe I am alive because of the compassion, care, empathy, love, and HOPE that Dr. McGarey and her staff showered on me during my 2 in residence weeks I spent living at the Temple Beautiful Retreat! They always made an extra effort to make me feel respected and attended to. They always listened to every question or concern I had,They were so kind and attentive to me. I didn't have to worry about them arguing with me, or contradicting what I had to say, rather, Dr. McGarey and her staff listened and treated accordingly. Her staff was very friendly, warm and professional, which made my experience that much better! Dr. McGarey, to this day, 24 years later, is the most amazing, intuitive, spiritual, physician I have ever encountered in my lifetime...and I have seen a multitude of physicians! I was completely at ease with her and her daughter. They went to great lengths to make sure I was comfortable with their treatment recommendations; that my 'body, soul, and spiritual health issues were addressed, and I attribute my cancer recovery to Dr. McGarey!
