I had 3 herniated disks repaired 13 years ago and he restored all the feeling to my 6 numb fingers. I'm very satisfied with the results (recently I had 4 bad disks in the lumbar spine repaired also).

As soon as I walked into Dr. Chiu's office I was greeted by one of the most INCREDIBLE & KINDEST man, my favorite radiologist in the world, hands down, Duk-Ki Kratavil, Clinical Director of Radiology. He went over my old MRI's with me & my husband & showed & explained to us what he saw. And then, THE INCREDIBLE Dr. Chiu came in & also sat down with my records, & went over my MRI's/scans in detail with me & my husband. From there, I was sent to get muscle & nerve tests done (thank you to Eleanore/Sonny/& the other doctor that helped me that evening). I then was sent back to Dr. Chiu's office with at least five staff members & within moments had a directive of what to do next. This was the most extensive & intense medical examine I had ever had for any procedure or medical condition! NOT ONE OF MY DOCTORS OR THEIR STAFF CAN EVEN COMPARE TO THIS MEDICAL TEAM! Most of my doctors misdiagnosed, didn't diagnose, didn't listen nor care, and did the most basic procedures without any special care or attention. My whole family left feeling assured that we had finally found the right place for my medical care. FINALLY there was a light at the end of my tunnel. That was just my evaluation! Even though me & my family had to wait a while before being seen, we were still taken care of & made to feel like we were important. And as much time as we had to wait the same amount of time was taken with me and my case. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS about such detail taken with my case. It is worth it! Bring a comfy blanket, a good book or your choice of electronic device, and just relax and realize that you are going to be taken good care of! I will definitely write a future review about my surgery and that STUPENDOUS STAFF! One more thing, I met a great new friend that night who had just finished up with her surgery and told me of her great experience with the California Spine Institute! Side note here ~ Please forgive me if I didn't remember your name, but thank you to all staff and doctors that helped me and my family!

From the front office staff who were so helpful getting me started and approved, to the pre op staff, to the OR staff, the X-ray staff and last but no least, the post opt staff, all are top notch and really concerned about every detail for you. I worked for the CHP and been around medical people all my life, no where is there as more caring and friendly staff who tend to every need and detail. Dr Chiu took all the time I needed to fully understand my case and exactly what he was going to do. Enough can not be said about all his staff and assistants. I will recommed this service to all my co workers and friends. Having had open back surgery before, this was so much easier on me, I highly recommend this surgery to any and all who have a problem where you can avoid the full open back with hospital stay. This is an in and out procedure. You will not be dissipointed at all with the Dr's or staff. Dr Chiu, you have a great team, no finer staff around? Thank you!

Post auto accident severe neck and back pain. Very good care pain relief!!! Staff very professional. Injections in neck and low back provided excellent relief Very satisfied with spinal care would recommend to friends and family with no hesitation

I have been suffering with very severe right lower back and right leg pain for over six years. I had gone to many doctors during that time and they all prescribed drugs and physical therapy, which would help for a while but the symptoms would always come back.
On a Wednesday I went to Dr Chiu for help as I was in a lot of pain. After doing a very detailed work up which include MRI, CT and X-Rays he diagnosed me as having four very large herniated disks at in the lumbar region which were compressing nerve roots which were in turn the cause of my pain all these years. He scheduled me for surgery the next day at 9:00 AM. At 3:00PM I was walking pain free and in my home having dinner by 6:00 PM that same day. I cannot believe how good I feel! Wish I had gone to see Dr Chiu 6 years ago.
Dr Chiu is the most caring doctor that I have ever had; he really makes you feel that your health is his number one priority. His facility is ultra-modern with all the latest diagnostic technology, plus the operating room is in the same building. The entire staff was very professional and courteous to me at all times.

I highly recommend Dr Chiu to anyone that is experiencing spinal problems. He will definitely steer you down the right road to recovery.
