Let me start by saying that the ONLY reason we went here is that our normal vet at EOAH was completely booked and I guess this is the reason why! I will never go to this place again!!! The entire staff was rude from the start and treated us and my breeder like we were stupid and had no clue what we were talking about. Yeah... I really want to pay $104 because I'm too stupid to take my dog's temp or know what contractions look like. Lindsay is one of the rudest and egocentric people I know. This lady is on a major power trip. We took our pregnant Chihuahua in today and as as it turns out, she had a false labor. She had the temperature drop and started labor and then completely stopped and her temperature went back up. Right off the bat Lindsay accused us of not being able to take our dogs temp accurately. Funny that she got the exact same temp reading we did just hours before. (Apparently ONLY a trained vet can properly stick a thermometer up a dogs anus and get an accurate reading). We tried to explain to Lindsay that our dog had lost her mucus plug and according to Lindsay, pregnant dogs do not have a mucus plug at all. Google search "mucus plug in pregnant dog" and you tell me what comes up. She also told us the amount of times a dog is bred plays no role in the amount of pups. Ok... so you're telling me you can breed a dog once and end up with the same amount of pups as if you were to breed it several times. Then why do breeders Artificially Inseminate several times? She not only told us false information but made us feel like we were stupid and didn't know anything. Then, Gretchen (a vet tech) was holding my pregnant Chihuahua while Lindsay (the vet) was trying to examine my pregnant Chihuahua. My wife was simply trying to talk to my dog and calm her down because she was in pain from the exam. Gretchen snapped at my wife and told her to back off and just let her handle it and do her job. I thought my wife was going to punch her in the face. I understand I'm not a vet, but my god... I do know how to take my dogs temperature accurately. We went into the appointment with our breeder, who has been breeding Chihuahua's for over 20 years. She tried to explain to Lindsay that she has been with us since the temp drop and she witnessed our Chihuahua start to have contractions and then just stop. Lindsay's response, "Well... I've been breeding dogs a lot longer then you have and I'm a trained vet. You don't know what you are talking about!" And then proceeded to argue with my breeder. My breeder was so upset and offended that she actually had to step out of the office. Really??? I'm sorry, but 20 years of breeding has some validity in my eyes. Lindsay really is on a power trip. And I'm sorry, but my father is a retired Ag teacher of 25 years and I was raised on a farm and around livestock and dogs. It's not like I haven't seen or been around a whelping dog before. Lindsay then had the audacity to ask us if we wanted her to be our vet. I didn't answer and just politely said thank you for your help. I will never take my dog here again. Even if it's an emergency. I'd rather drive to Boise if it came down to it.
