I had an emergency with my chocolate lab while camping and is not a normal patient of NCAH. Their team was extremely proffesional and helpful in a stressful time. The bill was explained to me prior to starting any treatment and is in the ballpark of what to expect for emergency surgery. During a situation like I had, which was a very strange injury, Lindsay was extremenly calming and helped more than she can imagine. I realize that is a service I am paying for but I am in debt to her for helping a non-patient during off hours.
They helped me and my kitties, and all of my questions were answered. Their staff was friendly enough. I was very satisfied with my visit. They were helpful and I left with the feeling of a good experience. The office was easy enough to find.
They are professional and were sympathetic to my animal, but I felt instead of working with me, they wanted to make all the decisions. They asked me upfront how much I could afford -- if a certain figure was ok -- then they worked to reach it. Which wasn't exactly what I wanted. I wanted to talk thoroughly about what was needed and what I could do without, but they just said this, this and this for this much, and that was it. I felt rushed at a time when I needed to take time to figure out what was best for my pet. When I called back a third time, after visiting twice, they said there was nothing more they could do and I would have to go to a referral hospital. I felt we could talk about hospice care since it was obviously time for that.... for instance, they gave me pills and pills are getting harder for him to swallow, but they didn't think of that. They just were thinking more diagnostically. He may need end of life help soon, I will try another hospital, recommended by a friend, in another town.
