Gulf Coast Counseling was a fabulous workplace. The agency closed last year. Unfortunately, when one works in the area of mental health then we face unfortunate situations. My negative review was made by a person that I have never met. He happens to be Internet savvy in his line of work. He used internet skills along with a few shady friends to defame my reputation. I am a very successful therapist with a patient retention rate of 98%. The Foley Police Department continues to follow up about my safety. I received many words of praise from my former parents through the Alabama Bureau of Investigations. “It does not get any better than that!”
I would be very cautious about using Gulf Coast Counseling.
When I was first contacted by Susan Corbin on 02.13.19 at 8:45 PM on a weekday, she sounded like she was having a manic episode. Completely disorganized in her speech and making assumptions about the nature of the relationship my daughter and I have together.
Susan then went on about "mandated paperwork" when there was no such mandated anything. (My ex-wife had scheduled this and was doing it on her own, there was no "mandated' anything!)
During this manic phone conversation, Susan would not let me speak without interrupting me.
What kind of counselor doesn't listen?
What bothered me the most is that Susan Corbin continued to make statements to me that insinuated that my daughter and I do not have a good relationship and that I needed to learn how to better help my daughter cope with the divorce, etc., etc.
Well, Susan, let me tell you something, you don't know jack-squat about my relationship with my daughter. And if you'd shut your mouth long enough to let a parent speak you might have learned a few things. But you didn't, nor did you ever ask me a single question about my relationship with my daughter.
Lastly, you just had to get a jab in by insinuating in a text to me that I wasn't professional.
You have a lot to learn about the people business.
If anyone wants to see these texts or hear the recorded phone call, feel free to message me.
(And yes, Alabama is a one-party consent state regarding the recording of phone calls.)
Apparently, this person who speaks poorly of the lead counselor suffers mental illness. I was with her in a psychiatric unit. She suffers from delusions. This is a great counselor. She saved my son. I realized that his problem was partially my fault. God Bless this caring counselor.
This place is a joke! Susan should not be working with children! She is unprofessional and potentially dangerous to children. She will do more harm than good. The woman she works with, Whitchards, is not any better. Please read up on this place before you decide where to take your child! I wish I would have.
