Everyone was very skilled and friendly, I felt like I was treated like a person despite the clinic being very busy. My only complaints are that Dr Mangubat was so busy he was often late, even though he seemed very focused on me and not rushed when he was in the room, and I now have a burn scar from accidentally being nicked by the Bovie.
The doctors made me feel safe and heard, which is rare for doctors to make me feel that way, the staff did an amazing job with the surgery, and I love my chest! It feels amazing to have no more boobs and feel like myself! Would recommend to my friends! Though sadly most people who I know would want top surgery do not leave in Washington, I still feel like the experience would be good for them! Anyway, thank ya'll for the help!!
Overall I am very happy with my experience, from initial contact to surgery day. I have some medical trauma so I am always a little cautious in medical settings, but Dr. Mangubat was really warm and kind and it put me at ease. I felt that he respected my non-binary identity and was great about me not wanting to get nipples. I really felt like his goal was to make me happy and it felt affirming. His staff were also really quick to get back to me when I had questions before and after surgery. The nurse was AMAZING extremely good bedside manners, and their insurance coordinator also saved the day when my insurance initially denied my surgery. The current resident, Dr. G (I do not have his full name written down anywhere so sorry about that) does not have great tableside manners in my opinion. I did not feel like he cared about making me feel comfortable - whereas Dr. Mangubat is very warm and friendly. Dr. G also misgendered me using 'she' then attempted to correct himself saying 'he' which was still incorrect because I use 'they/them' pronouns. It did not bother me that much because I get misgendered all the time and I am used to it but when I am in a medical office for gender-affirming care, that really should not happen. And if it does happen, you should apologize. I think you could do better about checking your patients pronouns before entering the patient room.
I am very happy with the results. I am a very satisfied costumer. Antonio always listen to my needs and give me his opinion for achieving a better result. I would come back again and again .. thank you guys.
