I have been a client at the Barone Spinal Care and Performance for the past two months. Two years prior, I had been in a severe car accident which resulted in trauma to my left upper body. My arm and my ribs healed but the pain in my shoulder and neck would just not go away. To me, my neck felt heavy as if it had gained ten pounds. This interfered with my ability to fully participate in my work-out sessions, my job, and a variety of activities at home. This also affected me emotionally trying to do tasks when in pain without complaining and not being able to partake in activities that I enjoyed leading to some depression. I tried many types of treatments including going to a chiropractor. I felt like this chiropractor barely helped me as the pain and discomfort discontinued.
One of my very close friends started to go to Dr. Barone. She talked about how good she was feeling and that this practice was different than others that she had tried. She wanted me to go to a meeting to learn more about Barone Spinal Care. And I am glad that I did!
Dr. Barone utilizes a thorough examination of the spine especially the upper cervical area. After this exam, Dr. Barone stated to me that he was so happy that I had come to his practice. He knew that his specialization in upper cervical treatment could really help me by putting my spine in alignment. He discusses his holistic philosophy and treatment. After that first adjustment when Dr. Barone realigned my C1 vertebrae using a “fluttering” finger technique on my neck that was painless, I was a believer. As I walked out of treatment room, I was able to move my neck fully without pain. I felt like I had lost the ten pounds in my neck and this this lasted for days!
For the past two months, while under the care of Dr. Barone, I have had much less pain in my neck, shoulder, and upper back that has lasted for days at a time. I can move my neck more freely which has helped me participate in activities that I want and used to do!
Dr. Barone will not make an adjustment on your spine when you are in alignment checking your spine in a variety of easy tests. (Unlike the other chiropractor that adjusts several areas in the body by looking at your first examination with oud cracking and some pain.) Dr. Barone then tells you this good news with a big smile on his face and tells you to keep up the good work. When one is not aligned, he uses the “fluttering” techniques on your neck and then provides a comfortable space for you to rest. This is quality care!
Dr. Barone and his staff are friendly and professional. They are willing to provide assistance with your questions and concerns. They make you feel welcome from the start. I would highly recommend the Barone Spinal Care and Performance center!

I am 66 years old and have been a patient of Barone spinal Care since June 2013. I was never in any real pain, but Dr Barone noticed that my spine was definitely mis-aligned, probably due to an injury many years ago. I had been in an auto accident in my early 20's that was probably the cause. Treatment has helped me make consistent progress toward recovery with improved circulation and improved posture. I had also been feeling pain in my right shoulder due to a rotator cuff problem. Treatment has contributed to less shoulder pain.

Everyone at Barone Spinal care goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They all have such a positive, cheerful attitude that it makes me feel very at ease through every step of my treatment. This positive, friendly attitude is genuine and evident every time I have an appointment.

I feel like I am getting my life back. When I came to the office this January of 2014, I had been suffering from chronic pain in my neck, side of face, head, and behind my eye. I had chronic, frequent migraines that occurred with debilitating pain, nausea, dizziness, and irritability. The migraines could last for days at a time. Light, sound, and motion were all almost intolerable to me. The severe pain had been going on for three years. Migraines have occurred for thirty years, but not as frequently and severely as in the past three years. I had tried many avenues to get help (physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, chiropractors, medicine, surgery, and diet changes) with no real success. I had become very depressed, finding very little joy in life due to constant pain.
I came to Barone Spinal Clinic as a last resort, feeling skeptical and annoyed at the prospect of starting all over again with a new doctor. My naprapath suggested it as she thought perhaps the specific NUCCA technique and knowledge would help my neck become aligned and stay that way for longer periods of time. Very specific x-rays were taken and I was advised on steps to take at home to assist with the healing process. The adjustments are gentle and I had some relief of symptoms in the beginning of treatment. There were ups and downs but I kept coming to get adjusted twice a week and kept following the guidelines for healing. At this point, about two months later, I have significantly less migraines, neck and facial pain. I have been able to incorporate light weights and yoga into my exercise routine. My energy level has improved. Most importantly, I have hope that I will not have to live in debilitating pain on a daily basis. I have more good days than bad days, which I could not say in the last three years at all. I have just obtained a full time job, which I don’t think I could have accomplished even several months ago. Also, I have completely stopped taking the three medications that were prescribed by my family doctor in hopes to prevent the migraines (which were not working too well but had dulled some of the pain).
The staff at the office is professional, friendly, and helpful. I appreciate what they all have done to help me so far and I look forward to continued healing.

For the last 12 years, I have been a very active woman and certifiable heath nut. I lift and/or run daily, I compete in events like Tough Mudder annually, amid the daily rigor of a full time career and the day to day hazards of life. I pay close attention to what I eat, and feel I do a good job of caring for the only body I’ll have.
Although many friends, coworkers and fellow gymmates often mentioned how much they loved their chiropractor- I had never really taken the time to understand why. I just thought of all the snapping, and uncomfortable twists and pops I had watched on television. That was the extent of my exposure, until I ran into Dr. Barone at my gym.

The initial scan took a mere 2-3 seconds and I was staring at a chart showing my nerve activity, in bright red bars. Red; never a good color.
Dr. Barone explained briefly, how improper spinal alignment can be detrimental to someone as active as myself, so I decided to see what he and his staff could do for me.

The office was friendly and inviting and despite my initial prognosis of being ‘out’ or misaligned, I was provided with a plan that detailed how we (myself and the staff) planned to restore alignment.

I didn’t have a list of pre-existing issues, but I wanted to see if there was another level of health, that chiropractic treatment could help me achieve. FDr. Barone pointed out that my left leg was 3/4” longer than my right. I wasn’t going to be ok with that- so I signed up for a plan to correct this dramatic difference.

Dr. Barone uses the NUCCA technique, which (thankfully) is a painless adjustment, followed by a 15 minute relaxation for the adjustment to set. My first time though- I really thought it wasn’t possibly going to work. I left the office perfectly straight, and didn’t feel any different.
Hours after, my entire body responded with aches and pains. After years of being out of alignment, all my muscles had become comfortable in the incorrect position! Dr. Barone followed up with me that night. He explained why I was feeling the discomfort, and I understood that it was necessary part of the process of re-aligning my spine.
That was the only time that an adjustment caused me any real discomfort. With each visit, I was noticing quite a few changes. Increased endurance while lifting and running, reduction in allergy flare ups, less tension in my back, and something I didn’t even list as an issue, disappeared. I had suffered from wrist pain in my right wrist as a result of a

break when I was 11. It was such a constant in my life, that I didn’t even put it down as an issue to be addressed by chiropractic treatments. I had been living with it for 16 years!
Winter seems to cause the worst pain in my wrist, and here we are, amid this crazy winter (2013-2014) and NO pain at all. No pain lifting, writing, stapling, typing…. all the things which previously had caused me agony, now have no negative affect on me.

I am three months into treatment, and while I still end up out of alignment, I have full confidence that Dr. Barone and his staff will continue to keep me healing to a healthy straight spine. I am very thankful that this opportunity presented itself, and that Dr. Barone revised my own outlook on my overall health. I believe that with continued treatment, I will be able to be a healthier version of myself, than I thought possible.

If you are interested in visiting a Chiropractic office, I highly recommend giving Dr. Barone and his staff an opportunity to show you how adjustments can change your life. I only wish I found them sooner!

I have nothing but good things to say about Barone Spinal Care. Dr. Barone has had such a large influence on my life, one that directed me to enroll in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Palmer College of Chiropractic. I am a strong believer in Upper Cervical Chiropractic, and this is all due to the care that I have received from Dr. Barone. Not only did Barone Spinal Care open my eyes to becoming a chiropractic practitioner, but also help me feel my greatest. I decided that I wanted to become a Doctor of Chiropractic around the age of 12, when my mother was a patient of Dr. Barone. I saw how an upper cervical adjustment could change a person’s life. My mother suffered from migraines along with other aches for years, and went to several chiropractors, but none of the techniques worked like NUCCA did.

The care that is provided by Barone Spinal Care is great for relieving pains and ailments, but it is also helps the body run at its fullest potential by going in regularly. The adjustment that is performed by Dr. Barone is one that corrects misalignment in the very first vertebra in your neck, a misalignment that B.J. Palmer, the son of the man that founded the practice of chiropractic, claimed to be a major misalignment. B.J. Palmer was focused on developing a spinal adjustment of the upper neck that would correct this misalignment, and an adjustment that could be done repetitively that produced an accurate and consistent result. The level of knowledge in B.J. Palmer’s day was incomplete, and it was the building blocks for the research that the founders of NUCCA, chiropractic performed. Dr. Barone is my preferred Doctor of Chiropractic for all my upper cervical examinations and adjustments!
