This hospital is a failure to its employees and to the community. I have yet to meet anyone who has been truly happy with their care from this place, the closest I have gotten is mild content. This is unacceptable when it cones to healthcare. When I took my young son in for a 103 fever I almost lost my mind with how horrid the service was. The hospital did absolutely nothing to find the source of the fever, or to treat it. This is a huge deal for my son who already has major health complications, is disabled, and considered special needs. The doctor did decide to take the liberty of checking my son for other problems, and in the process violated established pediatric standards. The doctor even admitted this to us after my sons treatment. I could go into a great more detail about the incompetence of this institution, but it would take hours to cover it all. This hospitals shortcomings and or problems include, but are not limited to: disregard for patient comfort, lack of medical knowledge, lack of proper medical equipment, roughly 2 million dollars in debt, use of the wrong medical equipment for procedures, cutting corners to save money at the risk of the health and safety of their patients and employees, and a willingness to violate state regulations to continue providing inadequate care so they can make a small profit. In conclusion, you couldn't pay me o get stitches for a small laceration here, not to mention trust them with the health of myself or my family. In my eyes this hospital is a blight upon this community, and their only possibility of a positive contribution to the community is to be shut down completely and bulldozed to the ground.
This hospital uses fairly current equipment, but its really nothing special and they cannot afford upgrades. They are damn near impossible to reach unless you dial 911 and then it's the first responders who get through. They aren't equipped to treat prenancy related complications, and if you don't have insurance they won't even provide competent triage. They are under-staffed, under funded, and apparently not worthy of any kind of corporate attention. I would only go here if I had no other choice and it were NOT life and death, because death rules this place with an iron hand.
