Ref Orthopedic Section, very unprofessional, uncaring, discriminatory in regards to a person with disabilities, aggressive hostile behavior towards patient if patient has the gaul to ask questions during a consult regarding possible surgery. Support staff of experienced children. Veterans, especially combat type are not treated fairly in this medical group.
I can really only comment on the Women and Children's floor. Most of the nurses were friendly but I had one who yelled at me for crying after a traumatic birth and baby in the NICU for 3 days. They destroyed my chances of breastfeeding successfully and took away my chance for an instant bond with my child because they kept her away for five hours after her birth (I had an emergency c-section). I received no real support breastfeeding until our 7th day in the hospital and had supply issues for the 6 months that I forced it. I was never able to breastfeed exclusively successfully. They were treating my daughter for conditions she only "might" have and refused to tell me what was going on. However the room was very nice and comfortable, the majority of the nurses were extremely kind, and they were very supportive during my labor (even though one of them lied through omission about a painkiller that may have stalled my labor). Mostly I felt like I was withheld information from and the end result was a very traumatizing birth experience.
