My mother lived here for over 11 years, but when the place was bought out by Brookdale (which also merged with Emeritus in 2014), things began to change for the worse. That's when existing services began to be cut and rents were raised every year. She had purchased her one-bedroom apartment for more than $80,000 yet was paying over $2000/month by 2014! Unfortunately, for-profit conglomerates likes this are all about the bottom line. We her children are still fighting for the total return of our good-faith deposit placed on CV's Memory Unit, based on their medical staff's recommendation. But mother never entered (or frankly, needed) that Unit. She was simply dying, and their staff never told us that! So here's a lesson for you: Brookdale/Emeritus has a huge incentive to keep your elderly parent in their facilities until the money runs out. Buyer beware!
