Dr. Gluszak is an okay psychiatrist. He can be very condescending. He is definitely blunt and doesn't sugar coat anything. As someone who struggles with an eating disorder, he can be triggering. He weighs you at every appt and whenever you gain weight he makes comments about how bad it is, even when weight gain is a normal part of recovery. While he does have his issues, he has been mostly successful in treatment.

I am finding another doctor....FAST !! I had been seeing a good psychiatrist for over 10 years, I started seeing Gluszak about 4 years ago when my old doctor moved. At first Gluszak was okay, not great, but just okay. He is not a very warm or caring person and never seemed to be truly interested in my feelings or problems, but as I only needed him for my meds, and he worked with me on those, I stayed with him. However, for the past 3 years, when I needed the most help and flexibility, I received neither. Due to family illnesses, I had to travel and stay out-of-state for weeks or months at a time. I explained this to Gluszak, but he still insisted on making regular appointments and giving me the minimum refills for my meds. Many time I had to call his office to get a refill, which just added more stress to my situation. When I was back in town and made an appointment to see him, at the most he spent ten minutes with me – 10 minutes when I was going through the most stressful period of my life!! He would maybe ask me one or two questions about my situation, but never really seemed to care about what I said, in fact I wondered if he was even listening to me. He just got me out of the office as fast as possible so he could go on to his next patient. He seemed to care more about getting my money than about me. I felt nervous when I had to see him and upset at the end of my session. My last visit with him was the worst ever. He is cold, uncaring, inflexible, seems to regard patients as income providers only. Now that I have the time, I am looking for another psychiatrist. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GLUSZAK TO ANYONE, EVER.

Dr. Gluszak was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. He helped me to relax and feel comfortable discussing my needs. He was well informed of medicaiton risks and benefits and worked WITH me to find a treatment solution to fit my situation. I was impressed at the time he took to evaluate my needs and how thorough he was. Scheduling was easy, the office was neat and clean, and the website is comprehensive with directions. I will definitely return to this provider. He was excellent.

This is the most cold-hearted and incompetent doctor I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. He was condescending, rude, and didn't know what he was talking about. I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder and he tried to misdiagnose me with something else entirely and force me on whatever drug he gets paid most for. I would NOT recommend this man to ANYONE looking for quality care. I left the office crying and am left saddened that this man is in the business of dealing with human patients. Take my advice, don't waste your time unless you want to waste an hour with a bratty disrespectful jerk.

Yes! He/she took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.

No, I felt confused and uneasy when I left

Not the worst, but certainly not the best
Does this psychiatrist give unbiased advice?
Not really. It felt like they just cared about making money.

Absolutely! They aren't arrogant at all and are more than willing to pursue advice when necessary

They made sure every single question I had was answered, and either Doctor or his staff calls /e-mails me back promptly. Joanna who is also Doctor's wife, is very friendly and professional, I love being able to use e-mail for communication. I found the office, but only because I had simple, very clear directions. I wish it had been easier to locate.

My perception was that Dr. Gluszak's main concern and priority was getting payment information/billing correct and sticking to the appointment to the minute. He gave mis-leading information regarding his level of experiences dealing with different mental illnesses to a local psychologist who referred him. During our few visits, it was clear to me that his knowledge level was shallow at best. In my opinion, he was not prepared for his appointments by reviewing my files in advance and was quick to dismiss me when he felt he did not have the knowledge base to treat me. Overall, I feel like he was falsely marketing his abilities in an effort to gain clients for his new practice.
