I went here a long time ago I liked to see Kim she was a good therapist she talked to me she knew how to handle some things with some people she needed enough time to deal with something. I got some help here with some things Kim looked up my medicine when I was asking her about something she was friendly to me she talked to me about things I talked to her about some stuff some things at the time I was going through did not make sense I am able to see things clearly she would talk about good things I was confused about stuff sometimes I did not know what was going on sometimes but she would try to help I really liked going to see her I felt good when I was able to think about something good or someone or something could help me. I was not on too many different medicines although they were switched at times from. Wellbutrin., Abilify, Serequel, Geodon came off of that I think, I took Paxil,..Abilify... Lamictal that was near the end of when I saw Kim I think I was put on that I might of took Zoloft I saw Dr. Cozzens he saw me then left or could not see me at first I got help with something that I really needed help with some things people do need help with. I saw a Dr. Sternberg I guess me and my Dad went there to try to figure out something they had to they were trying to help me out with something... I was talking about stuff I did not know things clearly but I did do stuff that made me feel good like read a book I would read them sometimes do schoolwork do good with it I thought a lot of things I felt bad about some things needed to feel better about some things I wanted for things to make me feel good I was distant from everything I could not think sometimes... Something was unclear I did not know what was going on I could do some stuff I was not able to things I would have wanted to do I do not like things to be wrong I felt bad because I was really stressed out when we saw Kim at the end I started to not feel good. After that I went somewhere else near where I live and they prescribed medicine I had different doctors come and go and they put me on Prozac I have to get adjusted to coming down off of my medicines and now I am going to a different office I am really glad about that. The therapists at this place would come and go and did not stay long at all they helped me tried to do that and did some things to try to help out thought process things and words feelings and emotions and ways to help myself out when I needed to help myself out my therapist asked how I was feeling talked some and said something about being beautiful out the weather I was not feeling good at the time but things got better some. I liked Kim it made me feel good that she wanted to try to get to know me she remembered my birthday we gave her a card and a gift. I could not understand some things. I went to another Dr. Boulware she was having trouble sleeping staying up... when we went to see her one time she said she could do tests to see what was going on that she thought she could do that but we had to leave there. She was trying to find out what was going on my heart rate was really high so they had to lower a medicine and I was really stiff at the time she took the time to notice these things. I saw Dr. Reese my doctor and he said I did not look like I was doing good on the Abilify that my reactions were slowed and I looked depressed upset that I could have something like Parkisons...I now think about it and know that he was right that some people may think one thing but another doctor even before knew something else and took me off the same medicine I was took on and off the same medicine with the doctor later it felt really bad because I am trying to help myself out and get myself healthy my body I have had an elevated liver and an elevated spleen I had acupuncture. I did not have some of the problems I had I think about things right I can see them clear sometimes people did not look at the whole situation and judge it wrong they did not know some things I said something then took it back I was confused sometimes I did not want to be some places I had to be things were not right for me it did not feel good. It makes me feel really bad when people do not document things notice things pay attention to everything say bad things about people do not know for sure stuff other stuff happens medicine withdraws people making me feel bad I just want a break from it to be able to take care of myself think about things its hard for me to talk do stuff but I can try sometimes I like for things to be on camera or recorded so people would or do know what is going on I feel better because I took Prozac I lowered it I thought I needed to I felt overactive with my feelings I am trying to do the right thing always which I always have done and I did feel bad that I had to be around someone a friend or someone I did not want to be around I did not understand or something now that keeps happening which bothers me I have told someone and they keep doing or for people around me acting bad doing stuff saying something not acting right thank god for someone to try to help people feel better as they could but people could also be worried about what is going on people around them their health/health problems what they do how they feel what is going on with them people they need to think and they need to treat people right the right thing should go on.

Dr Cozzens and Kim Carr are the best mental health duo working in Northern Virginia. They are professional, competent, caring and honest. First time I received positive results in counseling. Both Kim and Dr. Cozzens hold you accountable to assist in your treatment. If you want to get real help, the I urge you to call Family Psychiatric Associates today. They have 2 offices in Alexandria and Woodbridge.

I liked Dennis but Kim and me did not seem to get along. I should have known she talked about stuff I did not want to hear about.

Kim was my very first therapist. She put me at ease right away. Her office is warm and cozy. You feel like you are in her living room. She listens. She is very smart and gives good advice. She really helps you when I did not think that anyone could help me. I have recommended Kim to others and will continue to do so. The office has moved and is bigger and very nice. The women at the front desk are super.

I went to see Kim at the beginning of a messy divorce, and she helped me see clearly in order to make wise decisions and be there for my child. I still see Kim now several years later, because she has a very stable, clear-headed, practical influence on my thought process. Talking with her keeps me grounded as I navigate life after my divorce and being a single mother. She's the best :-)

Kim was the first therapist that actually helped me. She is understanding and knowledgeable, She gets results and does more than just listen. I would highly recommend her to others who want to get good results from their therapy.

Kim is very easy to talk to and makes the whole process of figuring out exactly what is wrong and working toward a solution as pleasant as possible. She is well-grounded with many years of experience and gives solid, practical advice. Implementation is key to change and she has consistently helped me see ways to do so. There is always somewhere to park and the office is very nice.
