I saw a therapist for a couple years and she was awesome....she left the practice. Had a "trusted and concerned" psychiatrist for over 8 years...he got other interests and dropped me at the curb without a word. He could of at least of had the balls to say "goodbye or no longer interested or I never really liked you anyway..." I worried for a long time that he was hurt or sick or that one of his kids got ill or worse...is he dying...is he dead? Worry, worry, worry...as I looked back on it I realized that he kept me sick (dependent on him) and made my illness spiral down until, basically, he ruined my life. The whole time I thought he was awesome...

This review represents my opinions about my experiences and may differ from yours.

Facts:
My direct involvement with COBM began in summer of 2012 in form of couple’s counselling. My partner was a long time patient well established with COBM actively undergoing treatment and therapy besides this new counseling program that I was asked to participate in. I have not been a patient of the COBM prior. I was not privy to any information about my partner’s past and current treatment and therapy. Several COBM professionals were involved with us in different functions. The objective of these “Couple’s counseling sessions”, was simply to improve communications in our relationship. There was never a conflict, hostility, arguing, or any sign of major problems that may threaten the relationship. Then one day I was informed the long-term relationship was over. No explanation, no closure, no communication or help from the COBM professionals, family, friends; I was literally stone-walled. As it all turned upside down in 5 seconds, at that moment my partner and all parties involved turned hostile. For illustration, the stories of Wendy Davis, Rachel Canning, Andrea Isom, etc., parallel my experience (without the legal and publicity drama) as I found out after the fact.

Pros: None

Cons:
• In the Couple’s counseling No diagnostic process/objectives were defined or followed, problems were not uncovered analyzed (if any existed I was not informed of them) therefore no problem solving took place; the sessions were simply a banal chit-chat
• After more than a year and half the counselor was not able to pronounce my name correctly (very easy to remember)
• There was never any preparation for the sessions by the COBM. When questioned they claimed that they remember all and everything. (Really? So professional! What about my name for starters?)
• The level of input/feedback/professional participation in the sessions was simply on the level of lip service, mocking, and ridicule
• It was obvious that there is no real interest in helping and therefore no active lead was taken by the counselor
• COBM was involved to either intentionally or manipulatively persuaded to further my partner’s agenda. They allowed my partner to walk away from all responsibility and accountability, thus (in my opinion) amplifying and hardening the illnesses.
• Hiding behind HIPAA and other such excuses they failed to provide the much needed quality mental / behavioral health care and services.
Conclusions:
In retrospect, learning after the fact, the whole counselling process was a smoke screen for an agenda predetermined by my partner to hide the facts of other relations and to facilitate a breakup. This long term theatric was based on my partner’s ability to manipulate the COBM professionals, to develop trust with them for this purpose, and to involve them, the family and friends in manipulative ways in support of the agenda (through expert lies and passive aggressive behavior). Again, I was excluded from all aspects this agenda (of course), allowed to participate in this “put-on counselling”, and like an unsuspecting animal led with a carrot to slaughter. Even though this resulted in substantial damage and long term consequences not a smidgen of anger crystalized in me. This is simply because my partner was, and continues to be, suffering from illnesses. I have done everything in my power to help and to support the relationship in the best way I knew how. There is no dignity in angering over an ill person’s actions such as my partner’s, and it is morally wrong. I only wish that adequate treatment was received allowing for both of us to live healthier life and avoid the long term damages. So please do not read this blog as my lashing out and being anger driven. This is a simple statement of facts and my opinions.

If you are in a situation seeking help of a guardian angel, or looking for a miracle worker, you will not find them here.

Tried to contact them about getting off of medicine but they wouldn't return my calls. Unacceptable customer service. I wanted advice, not a pill-pusher, and I was disappointed. I had to get off of the medicine and deal with the side effects on my own due to their lack of concern.

These providers are polite enough, I just did not feel as though I was making any progress after more than a year of going. So I decided to not make any more appointments because my family doctor could prescribe the same medicine they were. THAT is when they began charging me for "missed" appointments that were never scheduled to begin with! I've been trying to work with them on their error, but they refuse to return any of my calls! They've since turned this over to a collection agency and I've had to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office.
