Wow, if I had seen all of these negative comments I would have been freaked out being court ordered to put our custody case in her hands. But thankfully, I had a good experience. Yes, it was expensive and took waaaaay longer than I expected. But the outcome was worth it. No, all of the terrible things I submitted about my ex were not considered, but that wasn't her job to figure out who was telling the truth. She was so amazing with my daughter that she actually enjoyed going to all 3 sessions. Both Dr. Mellen, the court appointed advisor and the judge came to the same conclusion. If your case was sent to Dr. Mellen you probably weren't being very mature about the situation in the first place. If it didn't go your way, you are probably being a big baby about it now. Satisfied people rarely give reviews, so it is important for me to step up and rave about her services. From her assistant Lisa to Dr. Mellen the service was excellent!

Unbelievable ----- First of all, she does not know who she even talked to.....called one person a 'she' when it was a 'he'; money-hungry. RUN if you get assigned to her by a court. I have seen through the years reports on her and looking like things did not change - that she was intent ONLY on the money. Here's how it should be: Interview dad, interview mom, interview kids, interview collatterral, write up report - DONE. So how does this take ALMOST 2 years? The amount of money me and my new spouse paid to her should at least buy a TOP SPOT in line. As my wife said, I hope she enjoyed decorating that new Scottsdale office with MY money. Son's comments were backwards and not valid. RUN!

If I could give 1/2 star I would. The judge picked this one out...obviously he only is going on her credentials and not what her clients actually are thinking. She is $20,000.00 richer from our families and still there is no resolution. At least I'd like something to show for it, other than that, just given a bunch of empty promises and still no resolution. Since then, my son has turned 18 already so thank God the other kids are still able to talk.

Dr. Mellen is senile. She is abusive to the children and should not be allowed to treat them. All she seems to care about is getting paid and will side with the person who pays her. She is incredibly dishonest and everything you say will be used against you. She will twist intern it. Doesn't care if your children are in a vehicle with a drunk driver or if they watch sex videos at his house. My children will need counseling from their visits to Dr. Mellen.

Worst experience ever. I, the Father was "awarded hundreds of dollars a month and the X was COURT ordered to pay Dr. Mellen therapy for 1 year for the damage she caused between me and my son. I FIRED Dr. Mellen and saved the X from paying the last 2 months. Dr. Mellen had NO clue that Amy Woods, her personal assistant was the most unprofessional person. Amy Woods told my wife off and stated Dr. Mellen has "other" ugly clients and she had to quite her job. She should have been fired. Can you image going to see your Heart Doctor and the sectary emails you and your wife an unprofessional email. Dr. Mellen is clueless about her staff, clients, she is stale,, out of touch, money hungry, late, changes her contract and mind and plays favoritism. More complaints were found on line with Superior Court from other people. What a total waste of money, too bade she is "spoon" feed business from the Court system. After being dragged 13 times to family court from the X and winning , it was awesome to know that the courts BELEVE that a child should have a relationship with BOTH parents. It is NOT in the child's best interest to "load" up on life with his mother and have NO time for his father. She PAID dearly, Karma! If my son was younger I would have requested another therapist. Our relationship is way better now that he is grown and is not so influenced by the other parties. To all the GOOD dads and moms, FIGHT for your right to see and be with your child.

She is one of the most incompetent people I have ever come across in this field. She might be suffering from the early stages of dementia. I found that she is unable to keep basic facts straight from day to day, does not complete tasks on time, loses important items sent to her them claims she never received them. The funniest, and dumbest, thing she did was when she attempted to mediate which summer camp program our daughter with ADHD would attend. We could not agree which ADHD program was best. After this idiot wasted $2,000 of our money, her report recommended one of the camp’s programs for autistic children. This showed she did not even understand what she was recommending. Our daughter is not autistic, we were not agreeing on which ADHD program she should attend. I am thankful she made that error though because it was the key proof with her signature that I needed for demonstrating to the court how incompetent she is.
