I worked for RHS for about a year, and during that time I worked with some great co-workers and great clientele. I'm giving the company a one star rating, however, because of the 3 owners--Bruce Hampton, DeVere Hunt, and Tony Bell. On more then one occasion I found that their behavior towards women was highly inappropriate. On one occasion Bruce and Tony were about to conduct a review of one of my female co-workers. I overheard their conversation because I was next in line to be reviewed. Bruce informed Tony who was next to be reviewed by saying"We need to do -----" (I left her name out to protect her privacy). Tony turned Bruce's comment into a sexual one when he responded, "Well, I'm not gonna DO her," to which Bruce gently scolded him.

Another occasion involved me personally. I was meeting with all three of the before mentioned men. We were discussing about how the father of some of the children that I worked with had become romantically interested in me. When I commented that I was unaware of the extent of this man's feelings, they teased me about it. The situation had at this point started to become uncomfortable for me, but it was the comments that followed that really offended and angered me. One of the men jokingly called me a "homewrecker" and then DeVere commented that Bruce would leave his wife for me, to which Bruce looked me dead in the eye and said, "Because you're that kind of girl."

I couldn't believe that this was happening. I left the meeting in shock. For these three company owners to do that to one of their female employees was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. There was one female supervisor present during our meeting, and I called her later that day to tell her how upset I was. She apologized very sincerely and told me that she would let the men know how offended I was. DeVere called me and offered me an "apology" of sorts when he said, "I'm sorry that you interpreted it that way." There was no other interpretation for their behavior; it was very blatant sexual harassment.

My biggest regret is that I kept their actions quiet until now. If they treated me that way, as well as the other female employee that I mentioned, then I think it is fair to assume that other sexual comments have been made to other women and will continue to be made. I hope none have been made towards the female clients that they are supposed to serve.
