As a recovering Catholic in crisis, I went for therapy and wound up having worse problems as a result and wound up spending thousands to get deeper troubles. This person was promoting Catholic doctrine and dismissing alternative therapies such as mindfulness meditation where the locus of control is internal rather than external. At the time her focus was on shifting your locus of control to an external punishing God with the focus on being obedient to Catholic Doctrine and confessing you are a sinner. etc. I also did not know that there loopholes in the law for licensed psychotherapists. I looked at her degree and qualifications years later and realized she has an agenda to promote Catholicism. I suggest checking the laws on psychotherapy and loopholes such as "Christian counsleor." I am not positive but I had an adverse experience and the counseling set me back rather than helping. There were deceit and denial of statements made that were inflammatory causing more crisis. I would recommend you find someone following a more ethical stance than narrow-minded Bible beating that tells you miracles will happen if you are just good and does not recognize mental disorders in a conventional manner but rather as an evil of Satan which complicates the therapy. Claiming I am part of an inter-generational curse and it needs to be removed, passive-aggressive statements and manipulative and harmful "therapy." was my experience. My opinion is that if Catholic guilt works for you go for it. It did not work for me and did damage to me.
