I have nothing but praise to give to Segunda Yanez Scosta Ph.D. I being Catholic loved the idea of going to a therapist who had my same faith.
I was suffering from multiple problems. Because of Cervical Spinal Stenosis, I had loss of balance, I kept falling and ending up in the hospital. I was walking with a walker. On top of that, I had Neuropathy in both soles of my feet. I could no longer drive because I could not feel the bottom of my feet, and did not know which pedal I was pressing. I very depressed, on depression medications which was not working. Anxiety, and Hypertension were also problems. My pain rating when I first started going to her was a 10.
I live in Fredericksburg, VA 40 miles from her Mansassas office. I was seen on a weekly basis.
On 05/03/2018 I saw Dr. Acosta, we dicussed my pain level and what I had wanted to accomplish. I told her that I wanted to walk normally, without pain. She suggested Micro Current Elrctrical Stimulation. At first, I did not notice anything. She agreed to see me once a week for this treatments.
For my Cervical Spinal Stenosis, I was going to physical therapy 2 times a week. This ran from 05/01/2018 through 07/26/2019. Working on my neck, and my balance.
By June 30th I was starting to get feeling into the bottoms of my feet. She told me that the Micro Current Electrical Stimulation was a healing process. What was happening was that the live, active nerves were being redirected, to replace the dead ones. She had given me a recording to help me listen to, relieve the stress, relacing, alieviating anxiety, and begin excercizing. She also taught me relaxation techniques.
By June 30th, I was able to give up my walker for a cane. As each treatment was given, I was getting more feeling in my feet, amd my pain level was also going down. We continued treatments, and each session I was feeling better. Less pain, less depression, less anxiety, and I was so comfortable to talk with her about my faith and what was happening in my life.
By August 1st, I was able to give up the cane. I now walk with no pain in either feet. I still need to make certain that I am stepping as I should be. Going up steps is still a slow item for me because I need to make certain my feet hit the steps. All of her help and assistance, as well as encouragement that she respectfully gave me was wonderful! No, this was not a single time miracle, but to me, it was miracle enough.
Segunda Yanez Acosta, Ph.D, continued to work on my legs, waist, and shoulder as needed. After a fall on March 26, 2019, she started working on the area affected by the fall. She massaged the section of my arm that was affected. She added Trigger point to her therapy, along as BioFreeze. A heating pad was also used as part of therapy.
Upon seeing her on May 9, 2019 it was determined that I only needed to come in once a month.
