I have been seeing Dr. Jay Halen for nearly 20 years and members of my family have also seen him. He is great. He explains issues well. He does not take advantage by having me make more appointments than I need. Most important, I always feel better after I see him. It is usually easy to get an appointment as well.

Yesterday, April 3rd, marked the two year anniversary of when my life was dramatically changed by Dr. Halen's actions. The active, athletic, joyful life that I was so accustomed to was robbed from me. I continue to live with terrible pain and disability as a result of the high velocity neck manipulation that was performed against my wishes. I am still devastated that I was ignored and severely injured. This date will always be a reminder of that dreadful day and the horrible changes to my life.

One and a half years later and my life has been destroyed by the actions of Dr. Halen. I can tell you the day and time that it all changed as a result of a high velocity treatment by Dr. Halen. I had told him numerous times never to perform that manipulation on me, doctor's orders. He had written that in my chart. The daily pain and restriction that I now live with have been devastating. I have gone from athlete to experiencing pain and numbness just when driving my car. The pain at night is unbearable. There is more but I am now pursuing legal counsel.

I am in the process of filing a complaint against Dr. Halen with the Dept. of Health. It is a tragedy to cause injury to a patient but it is another tragedy to show no concern. Dr. Halen had no qualms about calling to solicit business from me but after causing harm he is not stepping up to the plate. My life has been significantly altered by the injuries that his wrongful adjustment has caused. As an extremely active person, it has been devastating for me.

If you choose to receive treatment from this office, please be very careful. I received a life changing injury as a result of manipulation by Dr. Halen. Clearly, he had forgotten doctor's very specific orders never to have forceful manipulation of my neck. He had written this in my chart but failed to adhere to it. I am now paying a very big price as a result.
