I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. The restrooms at this provider's office were clean and well-maintained. You could tell that they cleaned them regularly. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time. It's always nice when they can answer my questions over the phone instead of having to drive down there for an appointment. Most of the time, they're able to answer them over the phone which really saves my time and gas. I am always so impressed with how quickly my calls are answered here. I am never put on hold for a long time and love knowing that if I have a quick question I won't have to wait a half hour through terrible music to get it answered. Dr. Cline was wonderful with me and with my kitty. My kitty was very sick and doctor examined and explained everything very well. No big words I couldnt understand. I knew my options and made my own desision, no pressure at all. He was patient with me and very understanding.

I have been to the clinic with two animals who were both quite old and unwell. Both the vets and their staff were friendly and caring. I was given all the information regarding options for their care. I felt very supported in the decisions I made. I felt that my choices were respected and honored and was never pressured to into lengthy or expensive care that was outside my own comfort level. My animals were all treated with compassion and loving tenderness. I recommend Riverside to anyone who wants quality care for their pets.

We got to know Drs. Bill and Sandy Cline over 15 years ago when they cared for our basset hound & were part of another practice in Saginaw. We loved them so much we followed them to Riverside Vet, where they've been for a long time. Our beloved basset got pneumonia at age 15. After 3 days in "ICU", we had to have her put to sleep. We got our 9 year old son out of school so he could say goodbye to his only 'sibling'. Dr. Bill Cline explained he would give our dog a sedative first, as dogs sometimes have neurologic reactions to the euthanasia, and it was less disconcerting for observers like children. Then he would give her the euthanasia. They already had a heplock in her paw. They have us ALL the time and privacy with her we wanted. A peaceful, loving experience.
We've had 4 dogs with them since. Their philosophy is conservative loving care with the best interests of the pet and owner in mind. They discuss EVERYTHING with us. They are fantastic at educating their owners, and at talking the details with people like me (30 years in medical fields) and sharing decision-making. We had another dog get sinus cancer. Dr. Cline explained the decision making, giving cost estimates and pros and cons to everything. We ended up doing an in-house nasal scoping with them, getting the probable bad news, then going down to MSU, where we verified with diagnosis of sinus cancer. We put our dog in chemo (pill only, low side effects) and he was comfortable for a couple more months. When he needed something more, they put him on a 'pain patch' for 2 weeks and we had a nice long time to feed him nothing but frozen yogurt and treats and cuddle and say goodbye. When the time came, he'd hemorrhaged at home. They got me and him right in (the rest of the family was out of town), gave me a blanket to cuddle him in, put paper on the exam room door window, and let me sit with him after he got the euthanasia for the 30 minutes it took me to quit crying and let him go. I'm tearing up right now remembering their kindness. Kleenex, kind words - you'd think they'd never had to deal with it before only because none of it felt rehearsed or stale. They really, really care.
Finally, we had an emergency where we thought one of our dogs had stomach torsion. Turned out he'd eaten an entire pan of homemade bird suet. They tried to help us in town with a trochar, etc., but we ended up again at MSU for a stomach flushing and overnight observation. Dr. Cline warned us to watch for possible pancreatitis and what to look for because our dog had ingested so much fat. (Most expensive 'cheap' bird suet ever!)
Dr. Cline has the bedside manners of Mr. Rogers, the brains of Einstein, the teaching ability of Plato, and a huge heart. He and Dr. Sandy Cline keep up on the latest developments, and on their colleagues and MSU and other major clinical centers. He knows of developments concerning the genetics of our breed of dogs, for example!

He's a true partner in the healthcare of the animal members of our family. I recommend him and his staff members without reserve.

Dr. Cline went out of his way to be there for my family and my black lab at the time he was needed most. I cannot believe the review below who had negative things to say about him when her pet was put to sleep, because my experience was the direct opposite! We called Dr. Cline in a panic one Friday afternoon b/c our usual vet was absolutely not willing to help us with a life decision. Our dog had cancer and had had a biopsy at MSU. Our local vet was called when complications arouse. Our boy was in alot of pain and MSU said "remove the leg or put him down." We decided that taking his leg was what we wanted for us, so we could have more time with him. Our vet said she could do it "maybe Tuesday." Um NO! they said now or he has tremendous pain. We frantically called Dr. CLine b/c our friends had given him rave reviews, all the doctors in this practice, in fact. He spoke to me for 15 minutes that day, without never having met me or my dog. Later, he came back to his practice after an appointment, met me on a Friday late afternoon, and answered all my husband and I's questions about what we should do for our dog. He was in so much pain. He was dying no matter what we do, we had been told he would be gone in six months regardless of treatment rendered. He helped us to decide, and we decided to let our boy go. We were both sobbing at the decision, but knew it was best. Dr. Cline put a blanket outside in the grass where we would be comfortable. He let us say our goodbyes to our boy. It was the most difficult thing we had ever done, but it was the right one, and it was a good way for it to happen. Dr. Cline was great. We left, and they cremated our boy for us. We picked him up 3 days later, and were allowed to pay at that time, no stress after we had just had to say good bye to him. I will be forever grateful for what Dr. Cline did for us. Anyone who would write a bad review of him, or his practice, is COO COO!

Dr. Wm. Cline was my vet who cared for my beloved dog for at least the last 2 years of his life. I thought he was good with my sweet little Toby until the day I brought him in to say my final Goodbye. I was left out in the waiting room with my beloved dog, shaking and trembling for more than a half hour. Then we were put in a room with super bright lights and given a talk about how animals DON'T have spirits. REALLY?????? My dog has a spirit, and he is in heaven, and that's all I have to hang on to right now. I had to ask to be moved to a place with softer lighting, and then, to my horror, after I had asked for sedation before my dog was put down, he was given a lethal dosage of anesthesia immediately. My last memories of my beloved dog are of him looking at me, and then in an instant, he was dead. I was so mortified, I had to run out of the room. I don't know if he was in a hurry to get home or whether he cares that my last memories were horrific, but this was one of the worst things that has ever happened to me, and I would advise anyone out there who is thinking of euthanasia for your pet, DO NOT ALLOW Dr. Cline to do this to you. I will never get over it.

Dr. Cline is always very gentle with my dogs and it helps the dogs feel at ease. It's very apparent that he truly cares about animals and their owners and that this is not just a job for him, but his passion and purpose. While my dogs don't love to come to the vet, they usually settle down after a short time and Dr. Cline speaks to them in a very calming voice. I've never had to worry about the office being understaffed or not being able to help me right when I need it. The ladies at the front desk area are very knowledgeable and qualified. The prices are fair and they don't try to push products
