Dr. Rowan now works with my beloved black lab, Maxwell, age 11, and keeps him going. Max and I hike 3 miles or more every weekend, plus playdates with his buddies every day. Dr. Rowan has cared for four of my other labs over time. When I adopted Reese Adeline ears ago, a chocolate lab, at the age of 5, the rescue agency said she had bad arthritis. She lived to 13! She swam in the ocean to her hears content the summer before she crossed the rainbow bridge. I am a proponent of this care and certainly of Dr. Rowan's expertise. I now also bring a dear friend's dog for adjustments and laser treatments along with Max. The dogs love to come to Dr. Rowan's office.
When the vet was unable to provide relief to my dog I researched chiropractors and found Dr. Paul Rowan. My dog had not walked in two weeks unable to stand or use her front legs for undiagnosed reasons. As a senior dog, she had too much life in her to euthanize. After her first treatment with Dr Rowan, she was back to her normal bossy self. We were regulars until she crossed the rainbow bridge at 17 years.
BEWARE BEWARE. Severe negligence on Dr. Rowan‘s part! He did a neck adjustment on my older dog which ended up paralyzing our poor animal that was in perfect health! We had to subsequently put our dog down after two weeks of trying to save her life! This is a terrible place. I do not wish for anyone to go through what we have been through over the last two weeks. We’ve spent thousands of dollars to save our dog. Not once did his office call to show any concern or sympathy. Please please stay away from this place! This guy should not be practicing. He is a charlatan. If you love your pets you will do right by them to stay away.
They saved my girl! She was completely paralyzed on her right side with no control of any of her bodily functions. A neurologist in Richmond did a MRI and told me that without surgery she had a 30% chance of getting any feeling back. I couldn’t afford it, and was devastated because I was scared I was going to lose her. Thankfully I was referred here. A week of electro-current she got control back, and tried to use her legs. By week three she was up and running! It was a miracle. Dr. Rowan, Rhena and the rest of the staff are amazing!
Excellent and friendly staff!! Dr. Rowan has worked miracles on Penny (our elderly dog)!! She came home today from her adjustment and treatment and was running in the park - something she hasn't done in months!! Thank you Dr. Rowan!!
Sammy, a rescue Shar Pei, had a severe anterior cruciate ligament problem. Surgery, by another outstanding vet, did not help. Sammy would limp into Dr. Rowan's office on three legs, not placing any weight on his hurt leg, and come out walking on all four. I believe Dr. Rowan is one of the best vets, especially for structural problems, in the Hampton Roads area.
