Let me start by saying I know finding the right place is crucial and also very stressful. We were online for weeks trying to find the best place to send him to with the top doctors in the country. We wanted our son back, and although "the best care" means more money sometimes, our son is and will always be the best investment we could make. After comparing the top places, we found Seasons to be incredibly reasonable for all we were getting.
Our son "Robert" was seeking comfort from post traumatic stress and used alcohol and drugs to cope. He terrified us with illegal decisions that we feared would one day put him in jail or kill him. He also had what we were told was bipolar so he was considered a dual diagnosis coming in.
We liked that they challenged this diagnosis and were concerned about being medicated unnecessarily. Robert was put in THE BEST hands!
I called Seasons and was immediately comfortable and at ease. Bruce, the Director, spent HOURS on the phone reassuring me, teaching me, guiding me and taking me step by step through what this experience would be like. He went above and beyond. Even weeks into my sons care, Bruce spent hours again with me just letting me know how to transition with our son, he educated me on enabling, setting boundaries and doing things differently so that we could benefit our son. We always thought we were helping by keeping him at home where we knew he was safe, which now we know, was like giving him a green light to stay on this path of destruction. We made the life of drugs too easy for him even though it was a constant battle/nightmare in our home.
Our only regret was not sending him here sooner. We would have saved ourselves months of worry, stress, yelling, disfunction, pain, crying and the list goes on.
Our son was in trouble with the law, he used on a daily basis and its a gateway to the drugs we feared, he was disrespectful, he was vacant, he was angry and worse, he was addicted. None of this was minimal. Our sons problems were only a matter of time before it would be life or death.
Bruce educated me on all of this. He invested so many hours after he was even off work to help me. He cared for my son and it showed. John also spent a ton of time helping us get there, feel comfortable and answered weekly questions. He never made us feel our call was unwelcome. It was nice to know our son was surrounded by caring professionals. Dr. Noori is one of our sons favorites, she has really helped him so much with making sound decisions, thinking about consequence and seeing his potential. She has been instrumental is his self esteem. Ed, Dr. Mark, so many of them just meant so much to him. Each week I heard new names of people who really helped him.
The facility was AMAZING! We were was blown away! Its got the top Doctors in the COUNTRY, welcoming people, only 10 patients at a time for incredible one on one care, gorgeous views, a clean swimming pool &hot tub, tennis, a homey but state of the art kitchen with gourmet meals, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, field trips, comfy beds, beautiful relaxing areas, massages etc etc etc. We literally felt like we left our child in paradise. Im a very big worrier and thought his first week would be awful for me and for him and it was the opposite. My first call I braced myself, but he said he never wanted to leave, he loved it and the staff quickly became like family for him. This got me through the months of having him not around. I knew he was getting the help he needed, he was so happy, he was excited about his recovery, he was self reflective & he was very educated in recovery and what it really means, and it showed in our talks. Best of al,l he was finally ready, wanting and working on a new beginning for himself, a new life of healthy living.
There wasn't one person I had contact with that was anything short of impressive. They really hired thoughtfully and found the best. From John who answered my calls (the Admissions coordinator) and helped us so much, to Bruce, the Director of admissions (as mentioned above), to his counselor Dr. Noori, his psychiatrist Dr. Benjamin, his case manager Ed, his Doctor and Clinical Director Dr. Mark, the massage therapist Hortensia, his acupuncturist Rachel, his yoga and cranial therapist Lisa, his nurse Josh, the art therapist, the client advocates, the chefs Goran and Dennis, the hypnotherapist, the psychologist, the detox specialist Dr. Raskin, his spiritual therapist Audrey, Patrick the Director of Client services, etc too many to name them all, but we are grateful to each and every one of you that work at Seasons! :)
The list of doctors and services my son had was such an extensive, impressive list. He was never alone and there was always someone there if he was in need of anything.
We are not a wealthy family and this money did not come by us easy to send him here, but there is no price tag on our son. Its an investment that you cannot lose.
My brother is a Doctor, and he as well, did extensive research on what was the best facility in the country was and found that this place just stood out in so many ways, mainly its incredibly qualified staff of specialists that if you read some of the experience its qute impressive. Its clearly the best facility to draw in the best Doctors in the world and after seeing the high level of intense and genuine care our son received, we know he sent him to the best.
We cannot thank you enough Seasons! You gave us our peace of mind back, you gave him his future back and most of all you gave us our son back
