I went to Carole Marciano about a year ago because of my anxiety, hoping she would be able to help. After the first session and my parents asked how it was, I actually said "she wasn't very nice." She diagnosed me with a panic disorder (which I probably would agree with), but when I told her the list of things that cause my anxiety, she laughed at some of them and actually said "that's kind of weird" about another one. After a few sessions, she recalled that I told her my sister is a school psychologist, and suggested that I go to her (my sister) with my issues instead of continuing therapy with her (Carole). The lack of professionalism was painful to experience. I find it very hard to believe she has any clientele at all if she treats them the way she treated me.
They had a few different appointment times available but none were perfect for my schedule. I was a little disappointed at how helpful the staff was when I called with my questions and concerns. They definitely could have been more polite. The waiting area is rather small, but there is always a seat available. It would be nice if it was more spacious, but I've never had to stand. It takes them forever to get back to me. I never get my questions answered within a reasonable time period. Getting an appointment at this office wasn't too difficult. By my second appointment, I realized that her style of therapy is not appropriate for my daughter. She contradicted herself several times. She claims that anxiety disorder is normal, and that the person just has to embrace it so why go to a therapist, I ask??? Do not recommend her at all.
