Everything seemed fine until after the procedure when I found out that Dr. Thompson had coded the colonoscopy as if it was done because I was having problems instead of it being my first routine procedure, which is what it was. The coding used caused my insurance company to reclassify the procedure from a 100% covered procedure to one I owed the doctor over $800. When you are 50+ years old it is not unusual for your bowel movements to change somewhat, but when he asks you if you have noticed any changes, say "no" or you could have the same uncomfortable conversation with him that I had. He was very unfriendly on the phone! Fortunately, my insurance company was willing to override his coding to a baseline routine procedure that they were then able to cover at 100%.
They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Their staff is friendly and welcoming. I felt like my needs were mostly met, The office was easy enough to find.
