The best staff ever! They provide every need while Dr. Jenson gave me a miracle for sure. I had no feeling in my leg or foot for more than a year. His repair was flawless. Healing has been a piece of cake. Great experience!
Poor impression right from the go. Told me I needed pricey ortho inserts from Europe before a diagnosis was even made! Then added charges I was not aware of which were hidden well. Just felt like this was a money pit practice. Tried selling me pricey lotions when I hadn't been diagnosed yet. Decided this doctor was not for me. Now my sister who has seen him for awhile is changing doctors, no faith after many problems still.
I recently had foot surgery for morton's neroma . I had a stump neroma and a 2nd digit neroma removed. I have been a patient for 6 mos and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to Dr Jenson. My pain in top of my foot the burning, stinging and shooting pain has stopped. He is a very caring physician and is always very nice and professional. He listens to what I have to say and then orders test, mri etc to give his necessary info he needs to make a correct diagnosis and treatment . I thank God for leading me to him. His office staff have been very nice and accomodating as well.
While I have, so far, no issues with Dr. Jenson's technical skill and his medical staff was friendly I do have issue with his practice of selling over-the-counter pharmaceuticals directly out of his office for up to 10 times retail. In particular, his pushy office assistant, Margarita, with her condescending half-baked used car sales tactics really soured my experience there and is the main reason I took the trouble to write this review. She twice tried to coerce me in buying $25 worth of over the counter topical antibiotic, gauze, tape, and anti-fungal for $187, which I summarily declined only to receive an attitude from her. I don’t think she expected me to recognize the active ingredients rather she tried bandwagon arguments, pushed credentials at me, and then got rude as if I was wasting her time when none of it worked. The real insult however is the fact that she overcharged me, at the time of the office visit, by more than $70 claiming the quoted price was my insurance network rate but perhaps she only thought she verified the rate with my carrier or perhaps she flatly lied and just made up a number that sounded better. Coincindently, the overcharge was just above the amount for a follow-up visit which I never made. She made a point of stating twice to me it would be my responsibility to follow up for a refund which they couldn’t possibly do until ALL the paperwork was processed for ALL my visits. I talked to the insurance carrier who stated that it was very easy for them to get the exact amount and other physician’s have seemed to be able to hit the mark within $1. She became very hostile when I accused her of being dishonest; perhaps a good offense is the best defense if you’re guilty! The paper work was processed by the insurance company, but she claims they don’t have it yet so I’m sure I will have to chase after them some more to get back the money they took perhaps hoping I wouldn’t notice! A follow-up posting will accurately detail that experience and I will leave it to the viewing public to make their own decisions.
Medically I have no major complaints about my bunionectomy other than the bad infection that developed after the surgery. The billing has been appalling. Insurance company received a bill for a surgical tech for over 2.5 times what Dr. Jenson billed. I was told by the office staff that Northstar was in my insurance network. I am finding that it is not in my network so I owe more money. I was not offered a different surgery center, TOPS, which I would have preferred. It seems dr. Jenson recommends very costly treatments/ medicines.
