I accompanied my husband to see Dr. David Myers because he has been suffering greatly for over a year with a chronic skin condition. After waiting for over an hour "Dr." Myers finally graced us with his presence and a frat boy fist pump. He barely glanced at the detailed synopsis we provided and didn't listen to a word my husband said. Instead, he quickly determined that we should go home and slap some Aquaphor on the area. We have been using Aquaphor for over a year and it's useless because the problem isn't dry skin. That's why actual testing is needed to determine the actual cause. We could have saved ourselves a bunch of time and a copay by doing a google search to learn this amazingly novel idea. When we questioned how this would solve the problem and why further testing wasn't being done, it hurt his gigantic ego and he became INCREDIBLY smug and rude. He was clearly further incensed that a meager housewife had the audacity to point out how unhelpful, and rudimentary his suggestion was. If you have a REAL problem DO NOT go to this guy! His skill set is clearly limited to injecting things into rich women's faces.

I had previously given the only 2 star review on this board. Since I can't see a way to edit my original review, I'm updating my experience on a new review, as follows: Update added on May 8, 2014 (Originally gave a two star rating.) : Surprising, and not in a bad way! I got a call from Dr. Meyers himself, today. We had a very honest conversation, in which I was able to voice my concerns, and he listened and was very understanding. He apologized completely for any bad feelings he has caused, reassured me that he is coming from a place of wanting to help my daughter, and assured me that he is willing to do whatever is necessary to diagnose her. It was a very civil and respectful conversation, and I feel like all of our concerns were put to rest. He may have restored my faith in doctors! I'm very impressed with his character. Also, extremely excited that I don't have to start over with a different doctor. Turns out that Utah Valley Dermatology is fully willing to correct any mistakes that were made, and absolutely capable of communicating to correct problems!

Dr Meyers has been seeing my 8 year old daughter for a serious, painful, and unique condition on her scalp. I have been consistently treated like an overbearing parent, for asking questions and making requests. Almost nothing was explained to me about their suspicions concerning diagnosis of her condition. I was treated like a know-nothing when I made assertions about what it might be. Literally every test taken, and all information I can find online are consistent with my original assertions about what her problem might be. Seemingly, because I thought of it first, and he has already said without testing it that it couldn't be that, he is utterly unwilling to consider the possibility that I might be right in my assertion of diagnosis. To the point that he is unwilling to perform the tests necessary to confirm and diagnose her condition. Tests that would be relatively easy and inexpensive to perform. The attitude seems to be, "She's just some mom. She couldn't possibly know what's going on with her own child! I am the all-knowing doctor, and therefore should never be questioned or told how to do my job." He would rather call her condition, "Benign recurring pustules," than do the simple tests that would prove my assertion of, "Generalized pustular psoriasis," wrong. He actually said the words, "It seems to me that you're very jaded, and more intent on your own personal experience, than in getting your daughter the treatment she needs." Seriously. Which is kind of insane, considering that at this moment, he is telling me there is no treatment he can give for "benign recurring pustules." ...Do you mean OTHER THAN the tests you could do to rule out psoriasis?! Nice.

I am left without any other option than to pay the hefty stack of bills I now have from his office, which yielded zero explanation on my daughter's condition; and then go and find someone who's patients' well being is more important than their pride. Someone who is willing to do exhaustive testing and searching, even at the expense of perhaps having to admit they were wrong, to find out exactly what is going on with their patient.
