Dr Thomas could possibly have been the original idea they had in mind for the term "quack". He told me multiple times that almost everything wrong with patients could be cured by thyroid medication, that even though the tests for people come back within normal range, that symptoms resolve for most patients when they take thyroid medication. His exact words were" I don't understand why doctors don't see: if you have all the hypothyroid symptoms, you should be medicating for it whether the tests come back normal or not!"

He also continually made checks of my extremity strength by gripping them, my arm for instance, and ask me to apply pressure against him. The first test he would push my arm down with almost no resistance. He would then make "adjustments" by moving the arm, or leg, or foot, around. Then retest and grip my arm. But instead of pushing against my arm, he would grip it and shake and tell me "See how much this works!" Except towards the end of the exam, I wasn't even pushing against his force! He just sat there, gripping and shaking my arm or which ever part of my body and feeling proud of his accomplishment! Most ridiculous exam I've ever had. I didn't have it in me to go off on him
