Please don't ever have your pet euthanized without first having given them oral pain medicine the day before and the day of. This idea of them passing away stress free and pain free is not true. The needle to first put them unconscious is painful and frightening, so much so they are trying to jump away and are crying!. INSIST on getting oral pain meds ahead so they can be given ahead of time. You want your baby to go stress free and pain free to heaven. Some vets just first put in the IV to give the anesthesia and that hurts a lot. If you have had an IV yourself you know. There are oral pain meds (don't ask for Gabapentin, it apparently tastes really bad to them) to help with initial pain and stress of strange people, and if they are ready to be euthanized they are probably in pain anyway and have been in pain. God Bless our babies.

Did this provider leave you unattended for an extended period of time?
Not at all! They were always present and attentive
