I was in this center with a CVA 10 years ago. I was not impressed. I was very sick with anther problem when I first got there. I was told "You are sick every morning because you don't want to do therapy". One day when I was sick and was not allowed to go to my room and lay down when the lunch trays came I vomited all over my tray. Then they did tests to find out what the problem was. When I visited the doctor who was in charge of my case he asked "Are you able to touch your thumb to each of your fingers?"I guess he didn't look at my hand well enough to see that it was clenched in a fist. Now 10 years later and after many botox shots in my hand and arm I am able to open my hand and can now walk a short distance inside without a cane. All the spasticity in my left arm and side is nearly all gone. If someone (the doctor) would have noticed this botox could have begun years earlier. The protocol is 6 mos. after spasticity begins. Maybe the patient should be looked at more closely to see that they are spastic and not just week.
