"Horrible Company that needs to be out of Business"
Approximately, December 15th, I contacted Gatesco Medical Supply to inquire about obtaining a knee walker for an upcoming surgery. I spoke with Wendy, the Office Assistant and she directed me to their website to look at Knee Walker model 796. I decided to order it from them because this particular knee walker would fit my needs. I was told to fax my prescription and it would take about two weeks before I would receive the knee walker.
I did exactly what I was told. Two weeks later, I contacted Gatesco to see if my knee walker had arrived, but I was told by Wendy that the order had not been processed. She indicated that she would call me back, but never did. After a couple of days, I did not receive a call back, so I called again to check and the walker still hadn’t been ordered. During this conversation I reminded her that I needed my knee walker for surgery on January 22nd.
On January 2, 2019, I informed my insurance company that I had been trying to get a knee walker from Gatesco and asked if they could assist in expediting the process. After they spoke with them that day, I was told that my walker would be in by the end of the week. I never heard back from them that week so I start calling every day to check on the status of the walker. Each time I was told it would be in the next day.
Finally, I received the knee walker, late, about 9pm on January 14, 2019. When the walker was delivered, I noticed that it was the wrong model and brought it to the delivery guy attention. He stated he had nothing to do with ordering the walker, he only delivered. So he called the Manager of Gatesco which is Arami Gates and had me speak to him. I informed Mr. Gates that the walker delivered was different from the one that I was directed to look at on Gatesco website. I was under the impression that I was purchasing model 796, which had more features. Ultimately, I feel that I had been misled. This walker that I received was totally different from the one I was expecting. This walker didn’t have a basket attached to it versus the other one did. Mr. Gates said they are all the same and I told him no they are not, some are better than others. Then he told me that he would have me a basket delivered to my home the next day which was January 15th, 2019. I waited, to no avail. I waited a day or so, still no basket was delivered. I finally called and they said the basket was getting delivered on Friday, January 18th, 2019 but still no basket.
On Monday, January 21st, 2019, I contacted Gatesco and Wendy answered the phone, I told her that I was fed up with them because they have been unprofessional. I informed her that I was given a product that I did not order, on top of that, I was promised something that I still have yet to receive.
Finally, on February 13, 2019, basket arrived and went to pick up the basket and the basket want even fit on the scooter. Arami Gates and this entire company and staff need to be put out of business for unprofessionalism and potential fraud. There is no telling how many other people they have done like this.
