Hi, my name is Melissa Manie. For ten years, Crohn’s disease ruled my life. Every day my outlook was bleak and I lived in a constant state of pain, anxiety & depression. I was severely anemic and experienced rapid weight loss.

Then in February of 2024, I was referred to Dr. Rivadeneira because I was considering a last resort, which is that thing I feared the most—surgery for my condition. The first consultation was the turning point for the better in my life. He didn’t sell me a fairytale. My condition was dire. But he explained in a gentle, kind, and honest way what I was facing and the path forward. He didn’t disguise the seriousness of the procedure but helped me to see its necessity without pressuring me to go through with it. For the first time, thanks to him, I understood what was truly happening in my gut. Today I have my life back. For the first time in years, I can eat freely and truly enjoy my food.
