I had scheduled a physical with Dr. Perkins a year before my visit. prior to my visit I verified my appointment for my physical. In April I attended my visit believing it was my physical; however, either Dr. Perkins or her staff pay no attention as to why her patients are at the office. A month later I received a bill (my physicals are 100% covered) and I called numerous times over two months to explain that the only reason I went into the office was for my physical. I was told that yes your appointment was listed as a physical but the doctor didn't perform one. The visit was nothing more than a routine visit and the conversation was exactly what would have been had during a physical so there was no way for me to know that something else was occurring. I was told that no matter if a mistake was made on their end I am still responsible for the bill. Now, this isn't the first time Dr. Perkins and her staff have made a significant error but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt in the past. I am writing this to let you know that you should be aware of everything Dr. Perkins and her staff does every step of the way and watch them like a hawk if you still choose to use her services. I am for one going to switch doctors quickly and I am wondering about using Piedmont at all since they don't rectify their doctor's mistakes.
