I was a patient and was treated successfully for major depression, panic attacks and anxiety. Dr. Maddux was a great listener very kind and treated me with the utmost respect. I should never have left his care but at the time I was unaware (and did not discuss it with Dr. Maddux for some reason) that I was suffering from a severe case of PTSD which has since been diagnosed at the VA and by other Docs at well. I am also a Clinical PhD Psychologist and worked with him at the Mississippi State Hospital. He left there with a very good record and then went into private practice. I would recommend him to anyone suffering from mental illness of any kind. Do not get discouraged or give up hope because Dr. Maddux (as well as other good doctors) have medicine and other treatments which WILL get you well although you may not feel that to be possible now. But please see Dr. Maddux or some other good psychiatrist and don't be ashamed to admit that you are depressed. I am a combat veteran with many medals for valor and I did it--so can you.
