As a counselor, I find great joy in helping others find joy, meaning, and hope in the midst of life challenges. I provide counseling for depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I take time to listen to your story and get to know you as a person, so I can best understand you and your goals that you want to achieve in counseling. I hold MA in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and PhD in Counseling from UNC at Charlotte. Additionally, I am trained in marriage counseling, pre-marital counseling, substance abuse counseling, career counseling and trauma counseling. My approach to marriage counseling and pre-marital counseling is based on proven counseling interventions from Gottman Method to Couples Therapy and Prepare-Enrich. In individual counseling for depression and anxiety, I provide a safe place and a non-judgmental attitude to help my clients develop courage and skills to connect with others, think more positively, and overcome their fears. I utilize my training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help those that experienced traumatic events in their past to gain control over the intrusive thoughts and memories, and find relief from post-traumatic symptoms. I integrate Biblical principles with sound psychological insights for those who want to incorporate their Christian faith and practices into their healing process. I work at Agape Christian Counseling that is located at 2124 Crown Centre Dr. Suite 400, Charlotte, NC 28227. I offer free initial phone consultations as a way of introducing myself and evaluating my ability to help you. Please, call 704-849-0144 to schedule an appointment or a consultation.
